Installation Position On The 911:






1. Pull off the B+ plug -1- for the main switch (battery disconnect switch) on the battery positive terminal.


Plug For Main Switch:






2. Unscrew the fastening nut -2- for the ground point on the body and disconnect the negative terminal -3- at the battery.


Unscrewing The Ground Point:






3. Cover the negative terminal on the battery with a soft, dry cloth.
4. Remove battery disconnect switch together with the lead for the negative terminal and unscrew the fastening nut -4-. Remove lead for the negative terminal.


Removing The Battery Disconnect Switch:






5. Position lead for the negative terminal on the battery again and screw it firmly into place -3-. Tightening torque 3.5 ftlb.


Routing And Securing Lead For Negative Terminal:






6. Position lead for the negative terminal on the bulkhead and secure with the fastening nut -2-. Tightening torque 11 ftlb.
7. Place and fit the battery cover included with the vehicle.
8. Carry out Work instructions after disconnecting the battery.

Vehicle electrical system - switching on
The battery disconnect switch, which is supplied via the positive terminal, is closed manually using the external switch lever and locked electromagnetically. The luggage compartment lid must not be open when doing this.

Vehicle electrical system - switching off
The vehicle electrical system switches off:
- If the battery voltage falls below 12.6 V for approx. 10 min.
- Immediately, if the voltage supply of the main power supply switch (battery disconnect switch) is disconnected from the positive terminal.
- Immediately, if the main power supply switch (battery disconnect switch) is mechanically released.
