Certain details of the McPherson rear axle concept which is familiar from the previous Boxster/S (986) models have been optimized for the new Boxster/S (987). The main objectives here have been to increase transverse rigidity while at the same time reducing weight through the consistent use of light weight construction techniques and to improve driving comfort.
