Fault code 0562

Oil-level sender

NOTE: The oil-level sender senses not only the oil level, but also the oil temperature.

Diagnostic conditions
- Engine started
- Internal function test on instrument cluster

Possible fault causes
- Short circuit to B+ or open circuit in lines
- Short circuit to ground
- Implausible signal

Affected pins
- Instrument cluster, connector B: 'Pin 18'

Diagnosis/troubleshooting

NOTE:
- The 'Check oil level' message in the instrument cluster disappears when you open and then close the bonnet again based on the assumption that the oil was topped up.
- Once the 'Check oil level' warning has disappeared, a new warning will not be issued when the oil level is low until at least 100 km (62 miles) have been covered (oil temperature > 30 °C / 86 °F).
