Removing Wiring Harness For Engine (V6)

Overview







Removing wire harness for engine (V6)
1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Remove engine guard.
3. Remove cowl panel cover.
4. Remove engine cover and engine compartment cover.
4.1. Remove engine cover-Arrow A-.
4.2. Unscrew the fixing clips -a- and remove both covers -Arrows B-.







5. Unplug connector for air flow sensor and release air cleaner cover.
5.1. Release connector -Arrow A- and disconnect it from the air flow sensor -Arrow B-.
5.2. Release the air cleaner cover -Arrow C- and pull it up and out -Arrow D-.







6. Remove intake hose with air cleaner cover.
6.1. Loosen clamp -A- and pull intake hose off throttle housing -Arrow B-.
6.2. Turn intake hose away to the right -Arrow C-.
6.3. Release breather hose -Arrows D- and pull it off -Arrow E-.
6.4. Remove air cleaner cover and intake hose.







7. Remove cover for relay carrier in plenum panel E-box.
7.1. Undo fastening screws -1- and remove cover -arrows-.







8. Unplug lines for relay carrier in plenum panel E-box.
8.1. Unplug connector -Arrows A- and remove wire harness -Arrows B-.
8.2. Disconnect electrical plug connection -Arrows C-.







9. Release wire harness in plenum panel on the left.
9.1. Open the clips -Arrow A- and remove the line -Arrow B-.







10. Unplug connector on DME control module and loosen ground straps.
10.1. Release connector -Arrow A- and pull it off -Arrow B-.
10.2. Unscrew fastening nut -2- and remove ground strap from the threaded bolt -Arrow C-.
10.3. Remove line from the clip -Arrow D-.







11. Release wire harness in plenum panel on the right and remove from the plenum panel.
11.1. Remove the line and retaining clips from the threaded bolts -Arrow A- and pull the rubber seal in the area -a- to the front -Arrow B-.
11.2. Lift the wire sleeve up and out -Arrow C-.
11.3. Release clip -Arrow D-, open it -Arrow E- and remove the line -Arrow F-.







12. Remove protective cover on the starter.
12.1. Open the snap fasteners -arrows- and remove the heat shield on the solenoid switch.







13. Undo electric lines to starter.
13.1. Pull off protection cap -Arrow A-.
13.2. Unscrew fastening nut -3- and remove the line from the threaded bolt -Arrow B-.
13.3. Unscrew fastening nut -4- and remove the line from the threaded bolt -Arrow C-.







14. Unplug connector on oil level sensor.
14.1. Release connector -Arrow A- and disconnect it from the oil level sensor -Arrow B-.







15. Unclip line to oil level sensor.
15.1. Open the clips -Arrow A- and remove the line -Arrow B-.







16. Disconnect breather hose from front axle.
16.1. Open clip -Arrow A- and remove breather hose -Arrow B-.







17. Unplug left knock sensor and unclip line on front of cylinder head.
17.1. Release connector of left knock sensor -Arrow A- and disconnect it -Arrow B-.
17.2. Remove socket from bracket -Arrow C-.
17.3. Open clips -Arrows D- and remove line -Arrows E-.







18. Unplug connector from switch-over valve for engine ventilation.
18.1. Release connector -Arrow A- and pull it off -Arrow B-.







19. Unplug connector on throttle adjuster.
19.1. Release the connector on throttle adjuster -Arrow A- and pull it off -Arrow B-.
19.2. Unclip the line -Arrow C-.







20. Unplug connector for bar ignition modules.
20.1. To do this, press the connectors slightly downwards -Arrow A-, release them using a suitable aid (e.g. an angled piece of wire) -Arrow B- and remove them -Arrow C-.

21. Unclip line to the right bar ignition modules.
21.1. Open the clips -Arrow A- and remove the lines -Arrow B-.







22. Unclip line to the left bar ignition modules.
22.1. Open the clips -Arrow A- and remove the lines -Arrow B-.
22.2. Release retaining tabs -Arrow C- and remove wiring duct from bracket -Arrow D-.







23. Unclip wiring duct on right of the intake-air distributor.
23.1. Carefully press retaining tabs of the right wiring duct with a suitable pair of pliers -Arrows A- and remove the wiring duct -Arrow B-.







24. Unclip wiring duct on left of the intake-air distributor.
24.1. Carefully press retaining tabs of the left wiring duct with a suitable pair of pliers -Arrows A- and remove the wiring duct from the bracket -Arrow B-.







25. Disconnect engine ventilation.
25.1. Release engine ventilation hose -Arrows A- and pull it off -Arrow B-.
25.2. Lay ignition leads and wiring duct to the rear -Arrow C-.







26. Remove intake distributor.
27. Remove guide for oil dipstick.
28. Disconnect connectors for oil pressure and crankshaft sensors.
28.1. Release connectors from oil pressure sensor -a- and crankshaft sensor -b--Arrow A- and pull them off -Arrow B-.







29. Unplug connector on left knock sensor.
29.1. Release connector on left knock sensor -Arrow A- and pull it off -Arrow B-.







30. Unplug connector on air-conditioning compressor.
30.1. Release connectors using a suitable aid (e.g. an angled piece of wire) -Arrow A- and remove from air-conditioning compressor -Arrow B-.







31. Unplug connector on generator
31.1. Release connector -Arrow A- and disconnect it from the generator -Arrow B-.







32. Unclip line along right water tube.
32.1. Open the brackets -Arrows A- and remove the line -Arrows B-.
32.2. Remove line to the rear -Arrow C-.







33. Unplug connectors on secondary air valve, intake manifold change-over switch and temperature sensor.
33.1. Release connectors on secondary air valve -a-, intake manifold change-over switch -b- and temperature sensor -c--Arrows A- and pull them off -Arrows B-.







34. Unplug connectors on fuel injectors.
34.1. Release fuel injector connectors -Arrows A- and pull them off -Arrows B-.







35. Unclip cable duct.
35.1. Use a screwdriver to press the locking hooks together -Arrows A-, then press out in a downward direction -Arrow B- and remove the cable duct from the fuel distributor pipe -Arrow C-.







36. Loosen wire harness at rear of cylinder head.
36.1. Undo fastening nuts -5- and press wire harness downwards -Arrow A-.
36.2. Release connector on switch-over valve for run-on pump -1--Arrow B- and pull it off -Arrow C-.
36.3. Release connectors on the sensors for the inlet -2- and outlet -3- camshafts -Arrows D- and pull them off -Arrows E-.







37. Unplug connectors on camshaft adjusters and run-on pump.
37.1. Release connector on the inlet -1- and outlet -2- camshaft adjusters -Arrow A- and pull them off -Arrow B-.
37.2. Release connector on the run-on pump -3--Arrow C- and pull it off -Arrow D-.







38. Combination valve for secondary air system: Pull off vacuum hose and loosen ground strap.
38.1. Pull off vacuum hose -Arrow A-.
38.2. Undo fastening screw -6- and remove ground strap -Arrow B-.







39. Unclip line rear of valve cover.
39.1. Open the clips -Arrows A- and remove the line -Arrows B-.
39.2. Release clip -Arrow C-, open it -Arrow D- and remove the complete wire harness -Arrow E-.
