Removing holder for locking mechanism





1. Remove rear apron.





2. Unclip emergency release cable -1- and remove from foam part -2-.





3. Release and pull off the connector -3, 4- (-arrow A-).





4. Undo fastening screws -5- and remove support for locking mechanism -6-.

1. Check rivet nuts for secure fit and damage. If necessary, insert new rivet nuts and rivet with blind rivet nut manual device NR.125.





2. Position support for locking mechanism -6- on bumper.
3. Screw in fastening screws -5- and tighten to the specified tightening torque. -Tightening Torque: 8 ft lb. ± 0.5 ft lb.





4. Push on the connector -3, 4- until the locking tabs engage audibly -arrows A-.





5. Insert emergency release cable -1- into foam part -2- and clip it in.
6. Install rear apron.

1. Open spare wheel mount.





2. Unclip cover -1-.
3. Undo fastening screws -2-.





4. Remove threaded plate -3-, holder -4- and bellows -5-.

Installing holder





1. Position bellows -5-, holder -4- and threaded plate -3-.





2. Hand tighten fastening screws -2-.
3. Swivel the spare wheel mount with spare wheel mounted to the vehicle and engage in lock. If necessary, adjust the setting of the holder.
4. Move holder -4- until it engages correctly in the lock.
5. Tighten fastening screws -2- to the correct tightening torque. -Tightening Torque: 24 ft lb. ± 2 ft lb.
6. Clip in cover -1-.
