INFORMATION:
Loss of transmission oil in area of torque converter.
The following procedure applies in the event of a loss of transmission oil at the shaft sealing ring of the Tiptronic transmission (area of the torque converter):

For vehicles manufactured before the date of introduction specified below:
In the event of a loss of transmission oil in the area of the torque converter, the Tiptronic transmission must be removed together with the torque converter and replaced with a Tiptronic transmission (supplied filled and equipped with torque converter) that has been modified in the area of the shaft sealing ring/shaft bearing of the torque converter.

For vehicles manufactured after the date of introduction specified below:
The transmissions in these vehicles have been modified in the area of the shaft sealing ring/shaft bearing of the torque converter.
The shaft sealing ring must be replaced in accordance with the instructions given in the Workshop Manual.
