Coolant Pipe Leaking

Model Year:
As of 2003 up to 2006

Concerns:
New coolant pipes made from aluminum.

Information:
Plastic coolant pipe leaking.
On MY2003 to MY2006 vehicles there is a chance that the coolant pipes made from plastic may start to leak.

NOTE:
As soon as one or both plastic coolant pipes are replaced or moved, the following points must always be noted:

- Both coolant pipes (lower and heater) must be replaced at the same time with new coolant pipes made from aluminum (--> Figure 1 and --> Figure 2).

- The engine dose not need to be removed, because of the new, split aluminum coolant pipes, for the lower coolant pipe (--> Figure 1) to be replaced.

All the parts listed below are required for replacing the two coolant pipes.

Work Procedure:

NOTE:
Follow the procedure described in the Workshop Manual when replacing the coolant pipes.

NOTE:
Please observe install-position of hose clamps during installation of new type coolant pipes before re-installing air intake distributor.
