Replacing windshield wiperblades.

Information:
This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Campaign on a certain 2006 model year Cayenne (V6), Cayenne S and Cayenne Turbo vehicles. Vehicles which had the wiper blades replaced more than 4 weeks ago as part of the sales check, environmental influences can:

- reduce the wiping quality of the wiper blades, causing the wiper blades to smear.

- cause the wiper blades to produce rubbing noises.

On all model year 2006 vehicles supplied to customers in the months of November 2005 and December 2005, before handing the vehicle over to the customer, check whether the sales check was performed more than 4 weeks ago and if yes, replace both front windshield wiper blades.

Affected vehicles:
A total of 665 U.S. and Canadian vehicles fall within the scope of this Workshop Campaign.

Very Important!
Use the VIN range below as a general guideline. The VIN can be checked in the Porsche e-DCS/WWS for confirmation of an open recall campaign. Refer to Attachment "A" to determine if a particular vehicle is eligible for this recall campaign (or Workshop Campaign). Also, the VIN can be checked via the VRU (Voice Response System) for any open listing.

Not every vehicle in the below listed range may be affected. Use the ranges below as a general guideline. Alternatively, the VIN can be checked in the Porsche e-DCS/WWS for confirmation of an open service action.





The affected Vehicle Identification Numbers are contained in the VIN Ranges shown.

Attachment "A" VIN List

Attachment "B" Work Procedure: Check whether the wiper blades were replaced more than 4 weeks ago as part of the sales check and replace both wiper blades if necessary.

1. Check whether the wiper blades were replaced more than 4 weeks ago as part of the sales check

- If they were, continue with Step 2.

- If not Workshop Campaign complete.

2. Remove both wiper blades according to > Workshop Manual '922719' Removing and installing wiper blade and install new set of wiper blades, Part Number, 955.628.939.00.

Note!
Do not enter the Workshop Campaign in the Warranty and Maintenance booklet.

Attachment "C" Administrative Procedure, Workshop Campaign W605 Warranty claims should be submitted via e-DCS

Always check for open recall status under the appropriate e-DCS menu options.
