Removing And Installing Wire Harness For Removable Trailer Hitch
Preliminary work
1. Remove rear right luggage compartment side-panel lining.
2. Remove loudspeaker amplifier.
3. Remove CD changer with holder.
Removing wire harness for removable trailer hitch
1. Release the connector -arrow A- and pull it off -arrow B-.\
2. Cut the tie-wraps -arrows-.
3. Press out the rubber sleeve -a- from the inside and pull the lead out through the opening -arrow-.
4. Cut the tie-wraps -b-.
5. Open up the cover -arrow A-, unscrew the fastening screws -arrows 1- and remove the socket.
6. Take the rubber sleeve -arrow C- out of the bracket.
7. Release the plate -arrows B- and pull it - together with the rubber seal -d- - out of the contact housing -e- (-arrow C-).
8. Push the rubber sleeve and contact housing up through the fastening flange -arrow- and remove the lead.
Installing wire harness for removable trailer hitch
1. Pull the connector and rubber sleeve down through the fastening flange -arrow-.
2. Position the leads with new tie-wraps -b-, but do not tighten.
3. Connect the carrier to the contact housing -e- (-arrow A-) until the locking tabs are felt to engage -arrows B-.
4. Insert the carrier with the contact housing -e- into the socket.
5. Position the rubber sleeve -c- on the socket.
6. Position the socket with the rubber sleeve in installation position, then open up the socket -arrow C- and secure to the holder with the fastening screws -arrows 1-.
7. Push the lead in -arrow- and press the rubber sleeve -a- in until it engages audibly.
8. Fasten the tie-wraps -b-.
9. Insert the connector -arrow A- until the locking tab -B- is felt to engage.
10. Secure the lead with new tie-wraps -arrows-.
Subsequent work
1. Install CD changer with holder.
2. Install loudspeaker amplifier.
3. Install rear right luggage compartment side-panel lining.
