Removing And Installing Wiring Harness For Door

Remove door trim panel.

1. Remove rear-view mirror.
2. Remove door sub-frame.

Removing wiring harness for door

Removing wiring harness for door - door trim panel







INFORMATION: Before removing the door wiring harness, close door windows fully.







1. Detach the insulating mat at the bonding points -arrows- and remove it.







2. Unscrew fastening screw -1-.
3. Pull the air duct out of the mount -arrow A- and remove it to the front -arrow B-.







4. Pull lead off the LED -arrow A-.
5. Open the retaining hooks -arrow B- and remove lead along the lining -arrows C-.







6. Disconnect lead at door opener -arrow-.







7. Press out the door warning light and the interior light in the door from the inside -arrow A-.
8. Release the connectors -arrows B- and pull them off the lights -arrow C-.







9. Press the complete power windows switch up and out -arrow-.







10. Press down on connector -arrow a- and pull it off the power windows switch -arrow-.







11. Press the strip for switches up and out -arrow-.







12. Turn the strip for switches around, then release the plug connection -a- and pull it off -arrows-.







13. Detach wiring harness at the bonding points -arrows-.

Removing wiring harness for door - door sub-frame












1. Release the two connectors at the door lock -arrows A- and pull them off -arrows B-.
2. Pull away the side-impact protection from the door sub-frame -arrow C- and push both connectors forward between the side-impact protection and door sub-frame -arrows D-.







3. Unclip the fixing clip using a removal tool, universal NR.21 (-arrow-).







4. Press the rubber sleeve on the cable for the door opener out of the bore -arrow A-.
5. Lift up the cable -arrow B- and pull out both leads underneath -arrow C-.







6. Press out the rubber sleeve to the inside -arrow- and pull both leads through the opening.







7. Release the two connectors -arrows A- and remove them -arrows B-.
8. Release the connector on the loudspeaker -arrows C- and pull it off -arrow D-.







9. Unclip the wiring harness using a removal tool, universal NR.21 -a- (-arrows-).







10. Press out the rubber sleeve to the inside -arrow A-.
11. Remove the wiring harness at the outside -arrow B-.

Installing wiring harness for door

Installing wiring harness for door - door sub-frame







1. Push the wiring harness and rubber sleeve through the opening from the outside to the inside -arrow A-.

INFORMATION: After installation, the rubber sleeve must run up to the A-pillar.

2. Insert the rubber sleeve into the door sub-frame from the inside -B- until it is felt to engage -arrows-.







3. Clip the wiring harness to the door sub-frame -arrows-.







4. Insert the connectors at the power windows unit -arrows A- until the locking tabs -arrows B- are felt to engage.
5. Attach the connector to the loudspeaker -arrow C- until the locking tabs -arrows D- are felt to engage.







6. Feed the lead to the door lock through the opening to the outside -arrow A-.
7. Lift up the cable -arrow B- and push through both connectors underneath -arrow C-.







8. Clip in the lead -arrow A-.
9. Press the rubber sleeve on the cable for the door opener into the opening -arrow B- until it is felt to engage.







10. Press the rubber sleeve into the opening from the inside -arrow- until it is felt to engage.







11. Lift up the side-impact protection -arrow A- and push both connectors to the rear between the side-impact protection and door sub-frame -arrows B-.
12. Insert the two connectors -arrows C- until the locking tabs -arrows D- are felt to engage.

Installing wiring harness for door - door trim panel







1. Insert the two connectors at the switches for rear lid release and filler flap -arrows A- until the locking tabs -arrow B- are felt to engage.







2. Position the strip for switches in the door panel and press into place -arrow- until it is felt to engage.







3. Insert the electric plug connection at the power windows switch -arrow- until it is felt to engage.







4. Insert the power windows switch in the door trim panel and press it in -arrow-.
5. Make sure that the power windows switch is positioned evenly on the gap.







6. Push the connectors onto both lights -arrow A- until the locking tabs are felt to engage -arrows B-.
7. Insert both lights into the door trim panel and press into place -arrow C- until they are felt to engage.







8. Push the connector onto the door opener -arrow- until the locking tab is felt to engage.







9. Connect the connector to the alarm system LED -arrow A- until the locking tab is felt to engage.
10. Position the lead and secure with adhesive felt -arrows B-.







11. Re-attach the wiring harness at the original bonding points -arrows-.







12. Insert the air duct -arrow A- and press it onto the front cover -arrow B- until it is felt to engage in the cover.
13. Secure the air duct with the fastening screw -1-.







14. Apply adhesive to the door trim panel -arrows- and stick in the insulating mat.

Subsequent work

1. Install door sub-frame.
2. Install rear-view mirror.

Install door trim panel.
