Removing rear brake disc
1. Raise the vehicle.
2. Loosen adjustment device for parking-brake shoes.

Using a -screwdriver- , turn the adjustment device towards "Release".

3. Remove rear brake caliper from the wheel carrier and suspend it in the wheel arch (do not open brake hydraulics).
4. Remove rear brake disc.

Remove the countersunk screws -1- and take off the brake disc. If a stuck brake disc cannot be removed by gentle tapping with a plastic hammer, turn screws evenly into the two M8 threads of the brake disc, thereby pressing off the disc.

1. Check that all parts are in perfect condition and replace them if necessary.
2. Clean the levelling and centering surfaces on the brake disc and wheel hub.

Then apply a very thin coat of Optimoly TA to the centering surface on the wheel hub.

Information
The grey cast-iron brake discs at the rear right and rear left are identical. They are available with different external diameters and in different thicknesses (depending on the vehicle variant).

Rear PCCB brake discs are not identical. Observe marking for 'right' and 'left' side during assembly!

3. Fit brake disc and brake caliper using new fastening screws.

Tighten the two countersunk-head screws -1- to 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.).

Tighten the brake caliper fastening screw to 85 Nm (63 ftlb.).

Ensure that the brake hose and brake line are in perfect position!

4. Adjust parking-brake shoes (turn adjustment device of parking-brake shoes to suit).

5. Position disc brake pads onto brake disc by actuating the brake several times.
6. Check brake fluid level and correct if necessary. The brake fluid level must be between the MAX-MIN marking.

7. Fit wheel.
