1. Fasten main wire harness at centre dashboard bracket.

1.1. Lay main wire harness and fasten with four new tie-wraps.
2. Fasten main wire harness at right dashboard bracket.

2.1. Clip in main wire harness on both cable guides.
3. Fasten main wire harness at left dashboard bracket.

3.1. Clip in main wire harness on cable guide.
3.2. Insert fastening screw and tighten fastening nut. => Tightening torque: 3.5 Nm (2.5 ftlb.)
4. Fasten holder for relay carrier.

4.1. Position holder for relay carrier and tighten with the two fastening screws to the dashboard bracket. => Tightening torque: 3.5 Nm (2.5 ftlb.)
5. Clip in cable guide on dashboard bracket.

6. Clip in length compensation at the steering column.

6.1. Position length compensation at the steering column and fasten with the expansion rivet.
7. Fasten ground points on dashboard bracket.

7.1. Fit ground straps and tighten with fastening nuts. => Tightening torque: 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)
8. Push on connector for antenna amplifier, left and right -102 to 106-. -> 918419 Removing and installing antenna amplifier - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
9. Remove protective film of adhesive strip on main wire harness -area A- and affix main wire harness to A-pillar.

10. Clip in main wire harness at front of roof frame.

12. Connect plug connection of make-up mirror, left and right -100 and 101-.

12.1. Push together plug connection -arrows A- until it is felt to engage.
12.2. Clip plug connection into console -arrow B-.
13. Push together plug connection -99- until it is felt to engage. -> 921219 Removing and installing rain sensor - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
14. Connect plug connections between main wire harness and wire harness for heater/air-conditioning unit -95 and 96-.





Fastening electric line

14.1. Lay main wire harness to heater/air-conditioning unit wire harness and fix with a tie-wrap.
14.2. Push in upper electric plug connection at heater/air-conditioning unit until it is felt to engage.

14.3. Push in lower electric plug connection at heater/air-conditioning unit until it is felt to engage.

15. Push on connector for tilt sensor control unit -93- until it is felt to engage. -> 966319 Tilt sensor control unit - section on "Removing" Service and Repair
16. Fasten ground point under the unit carrier -92-.

16.1. Connect ground straps and screw down fastening nut. => Tightening torque: 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)
17. Push on connector for pedal sensor -85- until it is felt to engage.
18. Push on connector for stop light switch -84- until it is felt to engage. -> 943619 Removing and installing stop light switch - section on "Installing". Service and Repair
19. Push on connectors of KESSY/PAS control unit -82 and 83- until they are felt to engage. -> 966619 Removing and installing KESSY control unit - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
20. Push on connector of Gateway control unit -81- until it is felt to engage. -> 903519 Removing and installing gateway control unit - section on "Installing" 903519 Removing and installing gateway control unit
21. Push the plug connection together between main wire harness and wire harness for door, left and right -75 and 76-. -> 973219 Removing and installing wire harness for door - section on "Locking" 97321900 Removing and installing wire harness for door
22. Clip in wire harness at door sill.

23. Fasten ground point under the passenger seat -70-.

23.1. Connect ground straps and screw down fastening nut. => Tightening torque: 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)
24. Push on connectors for telephone control unit -66 to 69- until they are felt to engage. -> 919019 Removing and installing control unit for telephone - section on "Installing" 91901900 Removing and installing control unit for telephone
24.1. Clip in wire harness for telephone control unit.

25. Clip in wire harness under driver's seat.

26. Fasten ground point under the driver's seat -65-.

26.1. Connect ground straps and screw down fastening nut. => Tightening torque: 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)
27. Push on connectors for rear end convenience systems control unit -62 to 64- until they are felt to engage. -> 578919 Removing and installing control unit for rear end convenience systems - section on "Installing". Service and Repair
28. Push on connectors for ParkAssist control unit -60 and 61- until they are felt to engage. -> 917419 Removing and installing ParkAssist control unit - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
29. Push on connectors for airbag sensor, centre left and right -58 and 59- until it is felt to engage. -> 695119 Removing and installing airbag sensor - section on "Installing" 69511900 Removing and installing airbag sensor
30. Fasten cable duct to the left side wall.

30.1. Insert cable duct downward in the rear wall plate -arrow A-
30.2. Clip in cable duct to the bottom of the B-pillar -arrow B-.
31. Clip in main wire harness to the left side wall.

32. Plug in connector on front seat-belt tensioner -56 and 57- at left and right. -> 691319 Removing and installing front three-point seat belt with tensioner - section on "Installing" Testing and Inspection Testing and Inspection
33. Clip in the main wire harness in the area of the rear left spring strut.

34. Lay and connect ABS wire harness, front left and right -53 and 54-. -> 976555 Replacing ABS wire harness - section on "Installing" 976555 Replacing wire harness for anti-lock brake system (ABS)
34.1. Laying ABS wire harness
34.2. Tighten fastening screw of connector socket. => Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
34.3. Lock the plug connection securely.
35. Push on connectors of front antenna for Tyre Pressure Monitoring -51 and 52- at left and right until they are felt to engage. -> 443819 Removing and installing antenna for TPM - section on "Installing" 44381900 Removing and installing tyre pressure monitoring system antenna
36. Connect PASM plug connections -49 and 50- at left and right.

36.1. Connect plug connections for PASM, front left and right until they are felt to engage.
37. Push main wire harness plug connections for rear lid wire harness -47 and 48-.
37.1. Release connector sockets for main wire harness and push down from retaining clip.
37.2. Release and disconnect main wire harness plug connections for rear lid wire harness.
37.3. Unclip tie-wrap.

38. Fit rubber sleeves -42-.
39. Push connector onto rear angle sensor for headlight beam adjustment -41- until it is felt to engage. -> 947919 Angle sensor for rear headlight levelling system - section on "Installing" 94791900 Removing and installing rear angle sensor for headlight levelling system
40. Fasten ground point in rear luggage compartment -40-.

40.1. Fit ground strap and secure with fastening nut. => Tightening torque: 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)
41. Push on connector of DME control module -38 and 39- until it is felt to engage. -> 247019 Removing and installing DME control module - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
42. Push on connector of rear vertical sensor -37- until it is felt to engage.
43. Push main wire harness plug connections for motor wire harness -35 and 36-.

43.1. Push sockets for main wire harness onto relay carrier -arrows A- , until these are felt to engage.
43.2. Push plug connections for main wire harness to motor wire harness together -arrows B- , until these are felt to engage.
44. Push together plug connections for main wire harness to rear wire harness -33 and 34- and lock them, until these are felt to engage.

Completing the vehicle

1. Install left and right support.

1.1. Position the support and engage in lower side member.
1.2. Press in the locating peg -1- of the support and check it is seated correctly.





Securing the support

1.3. Tighten the fastening nut -3- and fastening screws -2-. => Tightening torque: 7.2 Nm (5.5 ftlb.)
2. Lay the floor covering over the support and engage.

Information

Ensure that belt strap can run properly!

3. Fasten seat belt mount at left and right.

3.1. Tighten fastening screw -2- , seat belt with fitting -3- and spacer sleeve -4- on inner lower side member. => Tightening torque: 50 Nm (37 ftlb.)
3.2. Press in -1- cap.

Installing front main wire harness

1. Push through main wire harness in direction of plenum panel.
2. Fit grommets -41- centre, left and right.
3. Clip in wire harness on end plate under windscreen at the two retaining clips -arrow-.

4. Push on connector for fuel level sender -40- -Arrow A- and lock -Arrow B-.

5. Position battery retaining bracket and secure with the four fastening nuts. => Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

6. Push on connector for alarm horn -39- until it is felt to engage. -> 966519 Removing and installing alarm siren - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
7. Push on connector for wiper motor -38- until it is felt to engage. -> 921519 Removing and installing wiper motor - section on "Installing" 92151900 Removing and installing wiper motor

Only for vehicles with TPM.

8. Push connector onto front angle sensor for headlight beam adjustment -34- until it is felt to engage. -> 947819 Removing and installing front angle sensor for headlight beam adjustment - section on "Installing" 94781900 Removing and installing front angle sensor for headlight range adjustment
9. Push on connectors for windscreen washer system spray nozzle, left and right -32 and 33- until they are felt to engage.
10. Connect plug connections for PASM, front left and right -30 und 31- until they are felt to engage.

11. Push B+ line -29- onto mounting point at the power distributor as far as the stop. Check B+ line sits firmly. -> 978919 Removing and installing power distributor - section on "Installing" 97891900 Removing and installing power distributor

12. Push on connector for alarm siren -28- until it is felt to engage. -> 966519 Removing and installing alarm siren - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
13. Push on connector for pressure switch -27- until it is felt to engage. -> 878319 Removing and installing pressure switch - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
14. Push on connector of vertical sensor -26- until it is felt to engage.
15. Push on connector for radio antenna -25- until it felt to engage. -> 914719 Removing and installing radio antenna - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
16. Push on connector for GPS antenna -24- until it is felt to engage. -> 914719 Removing and installing radio antenna - section on "Installing" Service and Repair
17. Clip in wire harness for end plate under windscreen at the three retaining clips -arrow-.

18. Push in connector for rod antenna -23- until it is felt to engage.
19. Push on connector for tank filler neck -22-. -> 200719 Removing and installing filler neck - section on "Installing"
20. Push on connector for filler flap switching element -21- until it is felt to engage.
21. Push on connectors of front antenna for tyre pressure monitoring system -19 and 20- at left and right until they are felt to engage. -> 443819 Removing and installing antenna for tyre pressure monitoring system - section on "Installing" 44381900 Removing and installing tyre pressure monitoring system antenna
22. Lay and connect ABS wire harness, front left and right -17 and 18-. -> 976555 Replacing ABS wire harness - section on "Installing" 976555 Replacing wire harness for anti-lock brake system (ABS)
22.1. Laying ABS wire harness
22.2. Tighten fastening screw of connector socket. => Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
22.3. Lock the plug connection securely.
23. Push through main wire harness in direction of luggage compartment.
24. Fit grommets -16- left and right.
25. Clip in wire harness to CD changer/navigation unit -arrows-.

26. Clip in wire harness to loudspeaker amplifier -Arrows A- and fix with new adhesive tape -Arrow B-.

28. Push on connector for tyre pressure monitoring system control unit -15- until it is felt to engage. -> 443419 Removing and installing control unit for tyre pressure monitoring system - section on "Installing" 44341900 Removing and installing control unit for Tyre Pressure Monitoring (TPM)
29. Push on connector for brake fluid sender -14- until it is felt to engage.
30. Push on connector for hydraulic unit -13- and lock it. -> 453019 Removing and installing hydraulic unit - section on "Installing" 453019 Removing and installing hydraulic unit
31. Push together plug connection between main wire harness and front-end wire harness, left -12- until it engages securely. Clip in connector socket.
32. Secure ground point left -11-.

32.1. Connect ground straps and tighten fastening nut. => Tightening torque: 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)
33. Push connector onto fuse box for fan -2-.

33.2. Close lid -Arrow B- until it is felt to engage.
33.3. Position bottom of fuse box for fan on the clip -Arrow C- and clip in -Arrow D-.

34.1. Insert connector socket in the holder and turn anti-clockwise 90°.
34.2. Push together plug connection between front-end wire harness and main wire-harness right -Arrow A- and lock -Arrow B-.
