Stereo Lambda Control

Both cylinder banks have a separate Lambda control circuit in order to determine and meter the best air/fuel mixture. The functions of the catalytic converters are monitored by four oxygen sensors, two each installed in the left and right exhaust tracts respectively.

Broadband oxygen sensors (LSU) are installed upstream of the pre-catalytic converters. Downstream of the pre-catalytic converters, step oxygen sensors (LSF) are installed worldwide.
