Information:
Changeover to modified yarn quality.
Since February 7, 2011 and as of the vehicle identification numbers specified under "Date of Introduction", different yarn has been used for the standard equipment carpets and carpet-trimmed accessories. The change affects the previous interior equipment colors Black, Stone Grey, Carrera Red, Sea Blue and Sand Beige.
The new yarn will also be used for interior equipment colors Natural Brown, Dark Grey Natural, Terracotta and Cocoa at a later stage. A new technical bulletin will be released accordingly.
Carpet and carpet-trimmed accessories manufactured using the modified yarn have a different surface structure (Feel) and - depending on equipment color - have a more or less different color than the previous parts. As a result, if replacement carpet and/or carpet-trimmed accessories are required from the specified date of introduction onwards, the previous carpet and/or carpet-trimmed accessories cannot be used.
Spare Parts Requirements:
Parts manufactured using the modified yarn are not yet available at present for replacing carpet and carpet-trimmed accessories. In addition, carpet and/or carpet-trimmed accessories that were fitted before the specified date of introduction cannot be used to replace carpet and/or carpet-trimmed accessories because of differences (different feel, color) compared with the modified yarn quality.
The following procedure applies for the time being:
If replacement carpet and/or carpet-trimmed accessories are required, order the parts using the "Special procurement" process or contact the Hotline.
You will also need to have the following details available:
- Vehicle identification number
- Part number + color code of the old carpet and/or carpet-trimmed accessories (= as a reference number since no new part numbers have been approved as yet).
Carpet and/or carpet-trimmed accessories are still available for vehicles manufactured before the specified date of introduction.
Date of Introduction:
February 7, 2011, as of the vehicle identification numbers specified below and for interior equipment colors Black, Stone Grey, Carrera Red, Sea Blue and Sand Beige.
