Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair



Removing And Installing Air Cleaner Housing

Removing air cleaner housing
1. Pull cable plug -1- off the boost-pressure sensor.







2. Loosen screw-type clamp -Arrow- on the throttle housing.







3. Loosen screw-type clamps -Arrows- on the pressure pipe.
4. Pull pressure pipe out of the hoses and remove it.
5. Release secondary air line -3- and pull it off -Arrow-.
6. Release cable plugs on the two hot-film mass air flow sensors -2- and pull them off.







7. Release screw-type clamps -1- on the two hot-film mass air flow sensors.
8. Pull air cleaner housing with rubber sleeves out of the cut-outs in the body and guide them out of the engine compartment.

Installing air cleaner housing

INFORMATION: Degrease intake manifold flange on the hot-film mass air flow sensors and inner intake manifold.

1. Guide air cleaner housing into the engine compartment and press it and the rubber sleeves into the cutouts in the body.
2. Slide hoses onto the hot-film mass air flow sensors. The white markings -1- must no longer be visible.







3. Position screw head on clamps into the cut-outs -Arrow- provided.
4. Tighten screw-type clamps -1-.
5. Connect cable plugs on the two hot-film mass air flow sensors -2-. These must engage audibly.







6. Connect secondary air line -3-. The coupling must engage audibly.
7. Fit pressure pipe.







8. Tighten screw-type clamps -Arrows-.
9. Tighten screw-type clamp -Arrow-.







10. Attach connector for boost-pressure sensor -1-. The connector must engage audibly.
