Removing loudspeaker amplifier

CAUTION
Voltage peaks can damage the audio system.
-> Before unplugging/removing audio components, remove ignition key and switch off audio system.
Information
If the amplifier is to be replaced, the coding must be read out using the PIWIS tester 9718 before removing the amplifier.
1. Remove panel for hazard warning triangle and tyre air bottle.
2. Remove sheet metal clips -1- from amplifier.

3. Pull amplifier out of its two retaining brackets -2-.

4. Release electric connector -3- and remove from amplifier.

Installing loudspeaker amplifier
1. Push electric connector -3- onto the amplifier and lock it.

2. Push the amplifier into its two brackets -2- and allow it to rest on the guide rail.

3. Push amplifier into its brackets and clip on the metal clips -1-.

Programming loudspeaker amplifier
Reading out and writing to the BOSE loudspeaker amplifier
WARNING
Sudden voltage interruption of the power supply to the control module.
- Destruction of the control module.
-> During programming, it is essential to guarantee the power supply for the Porsche System tester. It is essential to connect a battery charger with a current rating of at least 40 A to the vehicle battery.
-> Prior to disconnecting the control module, switch off the ignition and remove the ignition key.
Information
Follow the instructions on the Tester.
Later versions of the software may display slightly different text or require a slightly different procedure. The instructions you receive from the tester itself take precedence over this description.
1. Connect the Porsche System Tester to the vehicle and start the System Tester. Switch on the ignition. >> Continue.
2. Select the vehicle type.
3. Using the >> key, move from Vehicle type to the list of Control units and perform the automatic control unit search.
4. Select PCM2 with the cursor keys and press the >> key.
5. Select External BOSE amplifier with the cursor keys and press the >> key.
6. Select Coding using the cursor keys and press >>.
7. Select Read out coding (codings) with the cursor keys and press >>.
8. Switch to the Special functions menu and perform the vehicle handover using the F8 key.
9. In the Special functions menu, erase All fault memories by pressing >>.
10. Carry out automatic search of control units.
11. In the menu Write in coding >> , the data read out are installed.
12. In Coding select the version and follow the instructions of the Tester.
13. Read out and erase fault memory.
Coding the BOSE loudspeaker amplifier
WARNING

The PCM 2 code from the IPAS is needed for coding the loudspeaker amplifier.
1. Connect the Porsche System Tester to the vehicle and start the System Tester. Switch on the ignition. >> Continue.
2. Select vehicle type using the cursor keys.
3. Using the >> key, move from the vehicle type to the list of control modules. Perform the automatic control module search.
4. Select the relevant control module with the cursor keys and press the >> key.
5. Select Coding using the cursor keys and press >>.
6. Select the version required for the vehicle in question, code it with F8 and follow the instructions on the Tester.
7. In the menu Vehicle type, select Control units and then select the menu Special functions.
8. PerformVehicle handover and follow the instructions of the tester.
9. Read out and erase fault memory.
