Removing rear spoiler

Removing top section of the rear spoiler







INFORMATION:
- The rear spoiler extends at speeds of approximately 120 km/h and retracts again at approx. 80 km/h.
- The rear spoiler decreases drag and reduces rear-axle lift especially at higher speeds.
- The warning lights illuminate for a lamp check when the ignition is switched on. The warning lights in the instrument panel and the on-board computer light up if the rear spoiler does not extend or reach its end position.

1. To remove the rear spoiler drive, the rear spoiler must be manually extended with the ignition switched on, using the rocker switch in the passenger compartment.
2. Press out the pin from the plastic body-bound rivet -1-.







3. Press down and hold top section of the rear spoiler -2- -arrow A- and take out upwards from the bottom section of the rear spoiler -3- -arrow B-

Removing bottom section of the rear spoiler







1. Unclip covers laterally -1-.







2. Unscrew fastening nuts -2- and take off heat protection shield upwards -3-.

1. Position bottom section of the rear spoiler -3- on the rear spoiler drive -4- and screw down the fastening nuts -2-. Tightening torque: 17 ftlb.







2. Clip in covers laterally -1-.

Installing top section of the rear spoiler







INFORMATION: Make sure the centring on the top section of the rear spoiler is inserted correctly in the groove.

1. Position top section of the rear spoiler -2- on the bottom section of the rear spoiler -3- -arrow A- and press down -arrow B-.







2. Press in plastic body-bound rivet -1- and secure with the pin.
3. Check gap dimensions on rear spoiler. Refer to Diagram - body gap dimensions
