Preliminary work

Warning
Risk of injury from hot engine and hot engine fluids.
^ Danger of burns, scalding, damage to skin, injury to the eyes.


--> Do not carry out work on the engine while it is hot.

Warning
Hot pressurized coolant.
^ Danger of scalding and burning.


--> Only work on the coolant system when the engine is "cool".
--> Wear protective clothes, gloves and goggles.

Warning
Coolant is hazardous to health.
^ Risk of skin irritation.


--> Wear protective gloves and goggles.
--> In the event of contact with the skin or eyes, wash immediately with plenty of water.

Information
To facilitate assembly of coolant pipes and hoses, smear with Kluber Syntheso Glep or alternatively Kluberplus S06-100 assembly gel (available in the Porsche Parts Catalogue).

1. Remove engine compartment lid.
2. Drain coolant.

1. Work on bottom of coolant tank -1-:
1.1. Pull off cable plug -2- on engine coolant level sensor.
1.2. Remove M8 x 16 screw -3-.
1.3. Loosen spring band clamp -4- using spring band clamp pliers and slide it back on the coolant hose.
1.4. Pull off coolant hose -5-.

2. Work on top of coolant tank -1-:
2.1. Loosen spring band clamp -2- using spring band clamp pliers and slide it back on the breather hose -3-.
2.2. Pull off breather hose -3-.
2.3. Loosen spring band clamp -4- using spring band clamp pliers and slide it back on the breather hose -5-.
2.4. Pull off breather hose -5-.
2.5. Loosen spring band clamp -6- using spring band clamp pliers and slide it back on the coolant hose -7-.
2.6. Pull off coolant hose -7-.
2.7. Loosen quick-lock coupling -8- and slide vent line back.

3. Tilt coolant tank -1- a total of 180° in direction of travel and remove it from the engine compartment.

4. Remove remaining coolant from the tank and absorb any escaping coolant with a cloth.

Information

When fitting a spring band clamp, make sure that the spring band clamp is positioned between the two markings.

1. Guide coolant tank -1- into the engine compartment, tilt it 180° against the direction of travel and fix it in place in the holder -2- and guides -3-.

2. Work on top of coolant tank -1-:
2.1. Slide on coolant hose -1-, position spring band clamp -2- between the markings -3- and fit it at this position.
2.2. Slide on breather hose -3-, position spring band clamp -2- between the markings and fit it at this position.
2.3. Slide on breather hose -5-, position spring band clamp -4- between the markings and fit it at this position.
2.4. Slide on vent line until the quick-lock coupling -8- locks with an audible click.

3. Work on bottom of coolant tank:
3.1. Fit M8 x 16 screw -3- and tighten it --> Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)
3.2. Slide on cable plug -2- for engine coolant level sensor until it locks with an audible click.
3.3. Slide on coolant hose -5-, position spring band clamp -4- between the markings and fit it at this position.

Subsequent work

Subsequent work
1. Fill in coolant and bleed the system.
2. Install engine compartment lid.
3. Test-drive the vehicle, check the engine coolant level in the tank once the engine has cooled down and correct it if necessary (observe Min/Max marking).
