Removing And Installing Front Belt Lock (folding Sports Bucket Seat)

Technical values







Preliminary work

1. Remove sports bucket seat. Refer to Removing and installing folding sports bucket seat
2. Fit sports bucket seat on assembly fixture. Refer to Mounting front seat on assembly fixture

Removing front belt lock







DANGER: Defective front belt lock.
- Danger of material damage and injury.
- Do not kink front belt lock.
- Observe sequence for removing and installing front belt lock.

1. Remove tie-wraps -1- on wire harness for front belt lock -2-.







2. Turn connector socket 90 degrees to the left -arrow A- and remove it from the seat shell -arrow B-.







3. Disconnect wire harness from the connector socket.







3.1. Remove tie-wrap -2- on the connector socket -1-.
3.2. Release single connectors -3- ( -arrows A- ) and remove them from the connector socket -1- ( -arrow B- ).

4. Remove front belt lock.







4.1. Unscrew fastening screw -1-.
4.2. Pull front belt lock -2- out through the opening on the seat shell -arrow A-.
4.3. Pull wire harness -3- out through the seat frame -arrow B-.

Installing front belt lock

DANGER: Loosen the safety-related threaded joint.
- Danger of injury if belt lock is not screwed on correctly.
- Always replace fastening screw on belt lock after customer service and reworking.
- Never make alterations to the micro-self-locking screws (e.g. never use lubricant, loosen bolts, and screw them down again).

1. Install front belt lock.







1.1. Guide front belt lock -2- in through the opening on the seat shell -arrow A-.
1.2. Secure front belt lock -2- with the fastening screw -1-. Tightening torque: 35 Nm (26 ftlb.) ± 5 Nm ( ± 3.5 ftlb.)
1.3. Pull wire harness -3- through the seat frame -arrow B-.

2. Join connector socket.
2.1. Push the single connectors -3- into the connector socket -1- ( -arrow- ) until the single connectors engage securely.
2.2. Secure the wire harness with a new tie-wrap -2- on the connector socket -1-.







3. Insert the connector socket into the seat shell -arrow A- and turn it 90 degrees to the right -arrow B-.







INFORMATION: When routing the wire harness for the front belt lock, ensure that it is routed without tension.

4. Secure wire harness for front belt lock -2- with new tie-wraps -1-.







Subsequent work

Remove sports bucket seat from the assembly fixture and install it. Refer to Removing and installing folding sports bucket seat
