Concern:

CD Changer CDC-4 installation instructions. Only for vehicles with CD radio CDR23 or PCM2 (I No. PFI or PF2)

Information:





The vehicle equipment must first be verified and taken into consideration before ordering parts! For the set "CD changer CDC-4", it is also necessary to order the appropriate Optical Wave-guide (OW).

The OW depend on the equipment version:

- with/without CD changer preparation (I No. 7A1)
- with/without BOSE sound package (I No. 9VL)
- with/without telephone module.

The "CD Changer Preparation" option (I No. 7A1) had to be ordered separately for M.Y. '03, the option became standard equipment in M.Y. '04.

Warning!
Risk of short circuit and fire - due to work on vehicle electrical system.

> When working on the electrical system, the battery must always be disconnected and covered.

> Always route the electrical wires without tension stress and so that no chafing occurs and secure to existing lines/components with tie-wraps/electrical tape.

Caution!
Damage to optical wave-guide - due to incorrect installation or disregarding the requirements for handling the optical wave-guide.

> Do not use tools to connect or disconnect plug connections!

> Maximum permissible tension load: Do not exceed 60 N!

> Do not go below minimum bending radius of 25 mm after and during installation in the vehicle!

> Do not exceed maximum number of 10 twists per meter!

> Observe all instructions for when working with optical wave-guide according to Cayenne Technical Manual, Group 9, Part ID 9768!

Due to different equipment versions of the vehicle, the work steps in this bulletin are broke down as shown.





Possible equipment versions of vehicles without "CD Changer Preparation": see Fig. 003/004 shown. All OW that must be retrofitted are shown as dashed lines. Here, the electrical wiring harness (CD changer power supply) must be additionally installed.
