Removing and installing engine guard (underbody panelling)





Preliminary work

1. Raise the vehicle at the prescribed jacking points.

Removing engine guard

1. Remove front cover at the front apron.
1.1. Remove eight screws. -arrows-

1.2. Remove cover from front apron.

2. Remove front engine guard. To do this, undo nine screws. -1, 2 and 3-

3. Remove rear engine guard. To do this, remove two screws on the transverse strut -2-. Take the component out of the clamps on the transmission cross member.

4. Remove transverse strut if necessary. Undo two nuts. Undo middle screw.

Installing engine guard

1. Fit transverse strut if necessary. Fit two nuts. Fit middle screw. - Tightening torque: 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)

2. Install rear engine guard. Engage component in clamps on the transmission cross member. To do this, fit two screws on the transverse strut -2-.

3. Install front engine guard. To do this, fit nine screws. -1, 2 and 3-

4. Tighten fastening screws. - Tightening torque: 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)
5. Fit front cover on the front apron.
5.1. Push cover into front apron.

1. Lower the vehicle.
