Removing And Installing Gas-Discharge Headlight

Preliminary work
1. Remove main headlight.

Removing gas-discharge headlight

CAUTION:
Risk of irreparable damage to electrical and electronic components. Risk of damage to headlights.
- Before removing headlight, remove ignition key and switch off the light.
- Headlights must not be covered, e.g. by wing protector or film, when they are switched on. Risk of damage to headlights due to chaffing and excessive temperatures.


1. Remove cover.
1.1. Release cover -1- at the two clips -arrows A-.







1.2. Swivel the cover -1- out of the guides on the Bi-Xenon headlight and remove it -arrows B-.







2. Release connector -1- ( -arrow A- ) and pull it off the gas-discharge headlight -2- ( -arrow B- ).







3. Turn gas-discharge headlight -1- in -direction of arrow A- and take it out of the Bi-Xenon headlight -arrow B-.







4. Set down gas-discharge headlight, release the lamp ring -A- and open it.
5. Remove lamp ring from the gas-discharge headlight.

Installing gas-discharge headlight







1. Push lamp ring into the mark -B- on the gas-discharge headlight.
2. Close lamp ring until the lamp ring latch engages securely.







3. Carefully insert gas-discharge headlight -1- into the Bi-Xenon headlight -arrow A- and turn it in -direction of arrow B-.







4. Push connector -1- onto the gas-discharge headlight -2- ( -arrow- ) until it engages securely.
5. Fit cover.
5.1. Insert cover -1- down into the guides on the Bi-Xenon headlight and swivel it up -arrows A-.







5.2. Press cover -1- onto the Bi-Xenon headlight -arrows B- until the two clips engage securely.

Subsequent work
1. Install main headlight and carry out a function test.
