Removing And Installing Wire Harness For Seat Surface (front Seat)

Preliminary work
1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Remove the front seat.
3. Mount the front seat on the assembly fixture.
4. Remove control unit for memory seat adjustment
5. Remove suction fan for seat surface.

INFORMATION: Only required for wire harness for suction fan and seat heating.

6. Remove covering for middle backrest.

INFORMATION: Only required for wire harness for suction fan and seat heating.

7. Loosen covering for front backrest on the left side until you can reach the backrest cover.

INFORMATION: Only required for wire harness for suction fan and seat heating.

8. Remove backrest cover on the left side at the inside and outside.


Removing wire harness for seat surface (front seat)

INFORMATION: The description covers the three-part wire harness for seat surface with memory. Certain plug connections are not present on the two-part wire harness without memory.







Connector overview of wire harness for seat surface (front seat)







1. Release and pull off connector -2- on seat adjustment motor.
2. Release and pull off connector -3- on motor for rear vertical adjustment.
3. Release and pull off connector -4- on motor for front vertical adjustment.
4. Take off tie-wraps -13- and remove wire harness -X-.
5. Release and pull off connector -6- on seat adjustment switch.
6. Take off tie-wraps -13- and remove wire harness -Y-.







7. Remove tie-wrap -2- on the connector socket -1-.
8. Release connector socket -1- ( -arrows a- ) and remove the three single connectors -3-







9. Release connector for seat surface heating -9- ( -arrows A- ) and pull it off -arrow B-.







10. Release connector on suction fan for backrest -11- ( -arrow A- ) and pull it off -arrow B-.
11. Take off tie-wraps -13- and remove wire harness -Z- by pulling it downwards -arrow C-.
12. Take wire harness -Z- at the underside of the seat out of the line brackets -12- and remove it.

Installing wire harness for seat surface (front seat)

INFORMATION:
- Observe connector assignment.
- Connect blue connector to the motor for fore-and-aft adjustment.
- Connect white connector to the motor for front vertical adjustment.
- Connect yellow connector to the motor for rear vertical adjustment.

1. Route wire harness -Z- at the underside of the seat and press it into the line brackets -12-.







2. Slide wire harness -Z- through in an upward direction -arrow A- and secure with a new tie-wrap -13-.
3. Plug in connector on suction fan for backrest -11- ( -arrow B- ) until it engages securely.







4. Plug in connector on seat surface heating -9- ( -arrow- ) until it engages securely.







5. Slide the three single connectors -3- into the connector socket -1- until they engage securely.
6. Fit a new tie-wrap -2- on the connector socket -1-.
7. Route wire harness -Y- and secure with new tie-wraps -13-.
8. Plug in connector -6- on seat adjustment switch until they engage securely.
9. Route wire harness -X- and secure with new tie-wraps -13-.
10. Plug in connector -4- (white) on motor for front vertical adjustment until it engages securely.
11. Plug in connector -3- (yellow) on motor for rear vertical adjustment until it engages securely.
12. Plug in connector -2- (blue) on seat adjustment motor until it engages securely.

Subsequent work

INFORMATION: Only required for wire harness for suction fan and seat heating.

1. Install backrest cover on the left side at the inside and outside.

INFORMATION: Only required for wire harness for suction fan and seat heating.

2. Secure front backrest covering underneath at the left side.

INFORMATION: Only required for wire harness for suction fan and seat heating.

3. Install covering for middle backrest.
4. Install suction fan for seat surface.
5. Install control unit for memory seat adjustment.
6. Install the front seat.
7. Connect the battery.
