Eliminating Symptoms On Body Exterior - Reworking Remote Control (Remote Control Buttons Too Easily Pressed)

Symptom
Remote control buttons too loose.
Causes and remedial action
Cause
The buttons on the remote control can become too easily pressed as a result of constant pressure (e.g. when kept in the pocket of your trousers). This can set off the remote control prematurely.
Remedial action
In the event of a complaint, replace the silicone pad and buttons with modified spare parts.

Reworking remote control
Disassembling remote control
INFORMATION:
To prevent irreparable damage to the PCB as a result of an electrostatic discharge, always observe the following points:
- Only rework the remote control on a workbench or toolbox.
- Before opening the remote control, place both hands on the workbench or on the toolbox to ground yourself (place both hands briefly on the workbench).
- Then start working immediately.
- The PCB should only be held carefully at the edge.
- Insert the PCB into the silicone pad again immediately after removing and assemble the remote control.
1. Insert a small screwdriver between the cover and the lower part of the remote control -arrow- and carefully lift the lid off.
2. Remove silicone pad -1- with PCB from the remote control housing.
3. Remove the PCB -2- from the silicone pad -1-.
4. Lift up buttons (two or three, depending on the vehicle type) and pull them out of the remote control housing.
Assembling remote control
INFORMATION: The PCB should only be held carefully at the edge.
1. Engage new buttons in the remote control housing.
2. Insert PCB -2- into the new silicone pad -1-.
3. Insert silicone pad -1- with PCB into the remote control housing.
4. Position the cover on the bottom part of the remote control and press together until the cover clicks into place.
5. Test the remote control by pressing all the buttons one after the other.
