Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) In Limp-Home Mode/PDK Control Unit: Fault Code 1707 (16/09)

Concerns:
Fault code 1707 in PDK control unit.

Situation:
- Display in instrument cluster:"Transmission limp-home".
- Manual gear change no longer possible.
- Vehicle is ready to be driven again after switching ignition off and on again (PDK is no longer in limp-home mode).

This is caused by a software error in the PDK control unit.

Action Required:
Update the PDK control unit software using PIWIS Tester software version 24.000 (or higher). To do this, connect a battery charger and the PIWIS Tester to the vehicle.

Software version 24.000 is available online from 26.05.2009.

INFORMATION: Depending on the DME data status, the DME data status may have to be updated after installing the PDK software. In this case, a message to this effect will be displayed on the PIWIS Tester.

Erase the fault memory after you have updated the software.
