Throttle valve potentiometer 2 implausible
NOTE:
- Diagnosis takes place only if throttle valve potentiometer 1 has already been recognized as faulty ..
- If this fault is present, it is now detected that potentiometer 2 indicates values that deviate significantly from the calculated mass air flow.
- The vehicle is in limp home mode, i.e., the engine is running at 1,200 to 1,800 rpm and does not respond to throttle operation.
Diagnostic conditions
- Engine running
Possible fault causes
- Open circuit in wiring harness
- Short circuit to ground in wiring harness
- Short circuit to B+ in wiring harness
- Throttle valve adjusting unit faulty
