Preliminary work

Information

- The big fan is for engine cooling, the small fan is for air conditioning

- The sheetmetal clips on the fans are for balancing the fans and must not be pulled off.

1. Remove the radiator frame. -> 192019 Removing and installing cooling fan housing (radiator frame) on DFI engines

Removing electric fan for air conditioning =>
1. Unclip the electric connector on the radiator frame.

2. Loosen the three fastening screws on the fan and pull fan down and out. Guide the cables and control unit when doing so.

1. Unclip the electric connector on the radiator frame.

2. Loosen the three fastening screws on the fan and pull fan down and out.

Installing cooling fan (electric fan) on DFI engines

Installing electric fan for air conditioning =>
1. Push fan cable with control unit through the radiator frame from underneath.

2. Tighten the three fastening screws. => Tightening torque: 4 Nm (3 ftlb.)

3. Route cable correctly and clip electric connector into the frame at the top.

Installing electric fan for engine cooling =>
1. Push the fan into the frame from underneath and tighten the three fastening screws. => Tightening torque: 4 Nm (3 ftlb.)

6. Route connecting cable correctly and clip electric connector into the radiator frame at the top.

Subsequent work
