General information
Symptom
Under certain conditions, dark spots can appear near the holes (edge of holes) on vehicles with air-conditioned seats (I-no. 541).
Causes and remedial action
Cause
Information
On perforated seat covers, the pre-dyed colour can become darker near the holes (edge of holes) as a result of dampness or rain water.
This can look like spots under certain lighting conditions and when viewed from certain angles.
=> These spots are not damaged areas on the seat cover and do not therefore constitute defects from the point of view of the warranty.
=> It is a known fact that perforated leather becomes darker following contact with water.
Remedial action
The required remedial action is described in the attachment (repair information) => 7413N0 Reworking seat cover on air-conditioned seat - Enclosure.
Information
Please provide your customer with the following information:
- The required remedial action as described in the attached "Driver's Manual Enclosure" and
- Let your customer know that these spots are perfectly normal and are not defects on the seat cover from the point of view of the warranty.
