Removing And Installing Padding For Front Seat

Preliminary work

1. Remove cover for front seat. Refer to Removing and installing cover for front seat.

Removing padding for front seat

Disconnecting wire harness for heated seats







INFORMATION: Only for vehicles with heated seats.

1. Cut tie-wraps -1- and disengage wire harness -2- ( -arrow A- ).







2. Disconnect electric plug connection -3- for backrest seat heating -arrows B-.
3. Cut tie-wraps -1-







4. Release connector socket -arrows a- and pull out of holder.







5. Remove tie-wraps -2- on connector socket -1-.







6. Release connector socket -1- ( -arrows a- ) and remove the three individual connectors -3-.

INFORMATION: Make sure not to trap or damage the wire harness when pulling it through.

7. Pull wire harness out through the seat frame.







Removing padding for seat







1. Unclip fixing clip -1- underneath the padding -2- ( -arrow A- ).







2. Carefully detach padding -2- by hand from the seat frame -arrow B- and remove it -arrow C-.
3. Remove residual adhesive -1- and clean sealing surface of seat frame -2- with cleaning agent.







Installing padding for front seat

Installing padding for seat







1. Apply adhesive -1- on the marked area of the padding -2-.







INFORMATION: Sealing surface of seat frame must be clean and free of grease.

2. Place padding -2- on the seat frame -arrow A- and align it with the seat frame -arrow B-.







3. Clip in fixing clip -1- underneath the padding -2- ( -arrow C- ).

Securing wire harness for heated seats







INFORMATION:
- Only for vehicles with heated seats.
- Make sure not to trap or damage the wire harness when pulling it through.

1. Pull wire harness through the seat frame.







2. Connect electric plug connection -3- for backrest seat heating -arrows A-.







3. Engage wire harness -2- ( -arrow C- ) and secure with new tie-wraps -1-.
4. Press the three individual connectors -3- into the connector socket -1- until they engage firmly.







5. Put new tie-wraps -2- on the connector socket -1-.
6. Attach connector socket to support until it clicks into place.







7. Secure wire harness -2- with new tie-wraps -1-.







Checking seat following removal

1. Connect the removed seat to the vehicle's wiring harness via test cable 9745 and test cable 9745/1.
2. Connect electric plug to control module trim panel. Refer to Removing and installing control module trim panel.
3. Connect the battery. Refer to Work instructions after disconnecting the battery.
4. Switch on ignition.
5. Carry out a function check on the seat components.
6. Switch off ignition after function test and disconnect battery.
7. Disconnect test cable 9745 and test cable 9745/1.

Subsequent work

1. Install cover for front seat. Refer to Removing and installing cover for front seat.
