Information:
ONLY for vehicles up to and including MY '08:
The new installation position of the belt fitting (changed from B-pillar area of door sill to sports bucket seat) means that the standard 3-point belt on the sports bucket seat must be converted or replaced as described in Step 5.

A new standard 3-point belt, on which the position of the plastic rivet in the belt strap has been modified, is used from MY '09 onwards. This 3-point belt on longer needs to be converted or replaced.

The seat covering for the sports bucket seat is available in the following materials:

- Fabric cover, flame-retardant (regulation for racing events); color: black

- Leather cover; color: black

Longitudinal seat adjustment is carried out manually. Further adjustments (seat height, lumbar support, seat and back rest angle) are not possible. The "Seat heating" function is not available for sports bucket seats.

On vehicles with "seat memory" as standard, only "mirror memory" is still available once the sports bucket seat is installed.

- Risk of damage to control unit

- Fault entries in the control unit

- Coding in the control unit is aborted

- Malfunctions in control unit, even during programming

--> Switch off the ignition and remove the ignition key before disconnecting the control unit.

--> Ensure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming.

--> Connect a battery charger with a current rating of at least Nominal value 40 A to the vehicle battery.

3. Program the required installed components lists for the vehicle electrical system and gateway.

This may differ, depending on the seat version (standard seat - I-no. 369, fully electric seat I-no. P15, sports seat - I-no. P77 or adaptive sports seat - I-no. POI. It is assumed here that the maximum equipment version is installed (fully electric seat or adaptive sports seat).

3.1 PIWIS Tester 9718 must then be connected and ignition must be switched on.

3.2 Select "Vehicle type" and press >> to continue.

3.3 Program the vehicle electrical system.

3.3.1 Switch to the "VEHICLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM coding" menu. Press >> to continue.

3.3.2 Select "Left seat heating - yes" or "Right seat heating - yes". Press >> to continue.

3.3.3 Change preselected "yes" to "no" and code with F8.

If retrofitting both sports bucket seats, repeat this step for the second seat.

3.4 Program the gateway.

3.4.1 Switch to the "GATEWAY coding" menu and press >> to continue.

3.4.2 Select "Seat adjustment memory - installed". Press >> to continue.

3.4.3 Change the existing status "installed" to "not installed" and code with F8.

3.4.4 ONLY if both sports bucket seats, left and right, have been retrofitted:

Select "Seat heating- installed" from the"GATEWAY coding" menu. Press >> to continue.

The LED in the "Seat heating" button for the remaining standard seat must light up.

Information:
Pressing either of the two "Seat heating" buttons will generate a fault entry in the "Vehicle electrical system" fault memory for the particular seat with disabled seat heating. This cannot be deleted using the PIWIS Tester.

The GATEWAY is switched to the idle state if the vehicle is not used for some time or the battery is disconnected. A self-check of the GATEWAY is performed after connecting the battery or switching on the ignition, which results in the fault entry/entries regarding the "Seat heating" being deleted.

Consequently, the fault entry in the "Vehicle electrical system" fault memory can be ignored.

4.4 Read put the fault memory of all control units, correct any existing faults, and then erase the fault memory.

5. ONLY for vehicles up to and including MY '08: Modify or replace 3-point belt.

5.1 Carefully guide the assembly wedge from Wielander + Schill (Item No. 581104 --> Figure 2 -A-) or Hazet (Item No. 1965-21) between the bottom of the plastic rivet and belt strap.

5.2 Carefully press the assembly wedge in the longitudinal direction of the belt until the bottom of the plastic rivet springs up (--> Figure 2).

5.3 Remove the top of the plastic rivet from the belt strap.
5.4 Smooth out the pressure point and hole in the belt strap as much as possible by rubbing it between your thumb and index finger.
5.5 Inspect the belt strap for damage caused by removing the plastic rivet.

5.5.1 If boot strap is damaged:

Replace 3-point belt with a new 3-point belt from a GT2 (Part No.: see Porsche Electronic Parts Catalogue - PET) --> Workshop Manual '691119 Removing and installing front three-point belt'.

5.5.2 If the belt strap is not damaged: Hold the belt tongue (--> Figure 3 -A-) at the position at which the plastic rivet was fixed and fit a clamping piece (--> Figure 3 -B-) on the belt strap approx. 10 cm underneath, fold it over (--> Figure 3 -arrow-) and close it.
