Checking and topping up ATF clutch fluid

Vehicle raised incorrectly
Danger of fatal injury and material damage should the vehicle fall down
- Jack the vehicle at the prescribed jacking points.
Information
Take care to maintain access to the screws for the diagonal struts in the vicinity of the rear jacking points.
Information
To ensure that the transmission is filled correctly, the vehicle must be horizontal on the lifting platform.
1. Raise the vehicle at the specified jacking points.
2. Place oil collection pan under the transmission.
3. Remove support plate.

3.1. Remove diagonal braces.
Unscrew M10/M12 screws and M10 nuts and remove diagonal braces -1-.
3.2. Remove support plate.
Unscrew M10 x 25 screws and M10 nuts and remove support plate -2-.
4. On the oil filler screw side, mask the area between the ATF pan and transmission housing with adhesive tape to prevent dirt from getting into the oil pan.

- Do not start engine.
- Do not tow the vehicle.
Information
Before getting started, the transmission in the stationary vehicle must already be filled with ATF.
1. Pre-fill ATF.
1.1. Get the vehicle ready:
Move selector lever to position "P".
Start the engine and allow to run at idle speed.
Apply the parking brake.
1.2. Unscrew ATF filler plug -1-.

1.2.1. ATF emerges: Collect emerging ATF until only drops of ATF are emerging.
1.2.2. No ATF emerges: Top up ATF until ATF emerges at the filler bore.

1.3. Screw in ATF filler plug.
Information
Oil fill mode can be activated when the transmission fluid temperature is between 30 degrees C and 40 degrees C. The transmission control unit ends oil fill mode automatically after 5 minutes.
2. Preparatory work for checking ATF.
Precondition: Transmission oil temperature > 10 degrees C
2.1. Connect the PIWIS Tester.

2.2. Shift the selector lever through gearshift positions R-N-D once with the engine running and pause for one second at each position.
2.3. Move selector lever to position "P".
2.4. Start oil fill mode on the Tester and follow the instructions.
Information
Only use oil approved by Porsche in the Porsche Doppelkupplung.
3. Check ATF in oil fill mode.

- Let the fluid cool down.
- Wear personal protective gear.
3.1. Unscrew ATF filler plug -1-.

3.1.1. ATF emerges: Collect emerging ATF until only drops of ATF are emerging.
3.1.2. No ATF emerges: Top up ATF until ATF emerges at the filler bore.

3.2. Replace sealing ring for ATF filler plug -1- and screw in and tighten ATF filler plug -1-.
- Tightening torque: 35 Nm (26 ftlb.)±3 Nm (±2 ftlb.)
4. Switch off engine.
Subsequent work
1. Install support plate.

1.1. Install support plate.
Fit support plate -2- and screw in and tighten M10 x 25 screws and M10 nuts.
- Tightening torque: 65 Nm (48 ftlb.)
- Tightening torque: 65 Nm (48 ftlb.)
1.2. Install diagonal braces.
Fit diagonal braces -1- and screw in and tighten M10/M12 screws and M10 nuts.
M10
- Tightening torque: 65 Nm (48 ftlb.)
M12
- Tightening torque: 110 Nm (81.5 ftlb.)
