Preliminary work for wiper motor for rear window wiper system
- Remove trim panel for rear lid.
- Remove wiper arm for rear window wiper system.
Removing wiper motor for rear window washer
1. Unscrew the fastening screw -1- and fastening nuts -2-.
2. Take out wiper motor and release and unplug the electric connector -A-.
3. Take out the wiper motor.
Installing wiper motor for rear window washer
INFORMATION: If you are installing a new wiper motor or re-installing a previously installed wiper motor, check the rubber grommet for damage - to prevent water leakage - and replace it if necessary.
1. Position the wiper motor on the rear lid, while making sure that the drive for the wiper arm is positioned centrally in the sleeve.
2. Plug in the electric connector on the wiper motor until it clicks into place.
3. Secure the wiper motor with the fastening screw -1- and fastening nuts -2-. - Tightening torque: 3 Nm (2 ftlb.) - Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)
4. Switch on ignition. Then actuate the wiper motor at least once and allow to run until it stops.
Subsequent work
Reworking wiper motor for rear window wiper system
- Install wiper arm for rear window wiper system.
- Install trim panel for rear lid.
Installing grommet for wiper drive mechanism
If the grommet for the wiper drive mechanism is damaged, this grommet must be replaced.
The grommet is marked with an arrow, which must be pointing upwards following installation.
Rub the grommet with soap suds and insert it into the rear lid, making sure that the sealing edge is sitting properly on the rear lid.
