Convertible Top: Testing and Inspection

WM 613649 Eliminating noise symptoms - Reworking convertible-top main bow (Rubbing noises between convertible-top covering and main folding top bow/SY0511)

General information

Symptom

When driving the vehicle, rubbing noises can occur between the convertible-top covering and main folding top bow.

Cause, date of introduction and remedial action

Cause

Rubbing noises can occur while driving due to relative movements between the convertible-top covering and main folding top bow.

Date of introduction

This only affects vehicles that were manufactured in the production period between 25 May 2009 and 30 August 2010.

Remedial action

Check the vehicle history to see if the vehicle is affected by workshop campaign WA75 and whether the campaign has already been completed.
The required pieces of guide film will already have been affixed on vehicles for which workshop campaign WA75 was carried out. If this is the case, no further action is required.

In the case of vehicles manufactured during the specified time period but not affected by workshop campaign WA75, two pieces of guide film must be affixed to the convertible-top main bow on each side of the vehicle.
