Preliminary work

1. Remove front roof trim panel. -> 708319 Removing and installing front roof trim panel - section on "Removing" 708319 Removing and installing front roof trim panel
2. Remove A-pillar trim panel on the left and right. -> 705719 Removing and installing A-pillar trim panel - section on "Removing" 705719 Removing and installing A-pillar trim

Removing seal for cowl panel frame





Installation position of seal for cowl panel frame

1. Unscrew fastening screw -1- and pull off rubber seal for door -2- on the left and right as far as the door hinge.

2. Drill out rivets -1- from the integrated sheetmetal strips on the seal for the cowl panel frame -2- on the left and right using a 4 mm drill bit.

3. Pull seal for cowl panel frame -1- off the sheetmetal flange on the cowl panel frame.

Installing seal for cowl panel frame

1. Place seal for cowl panel frame -1- on the sheetmetal flange on the cowl panel frame.

2. Position seal for cowl panel frame -2- at the left and right and secure with new rivets -1-.

Information

Make sure that the water drain is not trapped.

3. Press rubber seal for door -2- at the left and right onto the sheetmetal flange and slide in sheetmetal insert -Inset-.

4. Tighten fastening screw -1-. => Tightening torque: 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.)

Subsequent work

1. Install A-pillar trim panel on the left and right. -> 705719 Removing and installing A-pillar trim panel - section on "Installing" 705719 Removing and installing A-pillar trim
2. Install front roof trim panel. -> 708319 Removing and installing front roof trim panel - section on "Installing" 708319 Removing and installing front roof trim panel
