WM 445619 Removing and installing spare wheel mount (frame)
Technical values
Removing spare wheel mount (frame)
1. Remove spare wheel.
Information
- The clamping screws -2- remain in the mounting.
2. Loosen clamping screws -2- at the lower mounting of the spare wheel mount -1-.
3. Prevent the spare wheel mount from falling down with the help of an assistant.
4. Unscrew fastening screws -3- on the top mounting of the spare wheel mount -1-.
5. Pull the spare wheel mount -1- out of the bottom mounting until the plug connection -4- is accessible.
6. Pull the plug connection -4- along with the wiring harness out of the spare wheel mount -1- until the sealing grommet -5- disengages.
7. Release plug connection -4- and disconnect it -arrow A-.
8. Remove spare wheel mount -1-.
Installing spare wheel mount (frame)
1. Position the spare wheel mount -1- on the vehicle with the help of an assistant.
2. Push the plug connection -4- together until the locking lug -arrow A- is felt to engage.
3. Push the plug connection -4- into the spare wheel mount -1- until the sealing grommet -5- engages.
4. Guide spare wheel mount -1- into the bottom mounting.
5. Screw in fastening screws -3- on the top mounting of the spare wheel mount -1- and tighten to the specified torque. => Tightening torque: 24 ftlb.+/-2 ftlb.
6. Screw in clamping screws -2- on the spare wheel mount -1- and tighten to the specified torque. => Tightening torque: 52 ftlb.+/-2.5 ftlb.
7. Mount the spare wheel.
Information
- A function test or spare wheel mount adjustment can only be performed with the spare wheel mounted.
8. Swivel the spare wheel holder with spare wheel mounted to the vehicle and engage in lock. Adjust the holder setting if necessary.
8.1. Unclip cover -6-.
8.2. Unscrew fastening screws -7-.
8.3. Move holder -8- until it engages correctly in the lock.
8.4. Tighten fastening screws -7- to the correct tightening torque. => Tightening torque: 24 ftlb.+/-2 ftlb.
8.5. Clip in cover -6-.
