Preliminary work

Removing holder for heater





Installation position of holder for heater

1. Unclip fuel line at the two holders -arrows-.

2. Unscrew fastening screw -2- and remove water tube holder -1-.

3. Open line bracket -arrow A- and remove wire harness -arrow B-.

4. Loosen circulating pump.
4.1. Open line bracket -arrow A- and remove line -arrow B-.
4.2. Pull plug connection off the holder -arrow C-.
4.3. Unscrew fastening screw -1- and open clamp -arrow D-.

5. Screw off both fastening nuts -1- on the directional-control valve holder -2-.

6. Drill out blind rivets -1- at the water tubes.

7. Unscrew fastening screws -1- on the heater.

8. Lift up holder for heater -arrow A- , guide it out at the water tubes -arrow B- and remove it.

Installing holder for heater

1. Insert holder for heater over the water tubes -arrow A- and place in installation position -arrow B-.

2. Position heater on holder and screw down with the fastening screws -1-. => Tightening torque: 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)

3. Position water tubes on holder and secure with new blind rivets -1- (4.8 x 10).

4. Position directional-control valve holder -2- and screw down using the two fastening nuts -1-. => Tightening torque: 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.)

5. Secure circulating pump.
5.1. Close clamp -arrow A- and screw down using the fastening screw -1-. => Tightening torque: 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.)
5.2. Slide plug connection onto holder -arrow B-.

Information

Ensure correct line routing.

5.3. Insert line into line bracket -arrow C- and close line bracket -arrow D-.

6. Insert wire harness into line bracket -arrow A- and close line bracket -arrow B-.

7. Push water tube holder -1- onto the two water tubes and screw down using the fastening screw -2-. => Tightening torque: 3 Nm (2 ftlb.)

8. Position fuel line and clip in at the two holders -arrows-.

1. Install intake muffler with intake manifold. -> 822119 Removing and installing intake muffler - section on "Installing" 822119 Removing and installing intake muffler
2. Install complete heater. -> 822019 Removing and installing complete heater - section on "Installing" 822019 Removing and installing complete heater
