Information

The motor for seat adjustment is not available individually as a spare part. The motor is only supplied together with the seat adjustment frame and must be replaced together with the frame.

Information

To prevent the complete weight of the seat from lying on the pivot axes for front vertical adjustment, always observe the following points:

- Place a suitable protective cover on the workbench.

- Get another person to help you remove the seat from the mounting frame and place the back of the backrest on the workbench.

Only for vehicles with seat memory.

1. Loosen holder for seat memory control unit -1- at the fastening screws -2- and lift slightly -arrows-.

2. Release wire harness for seat.





Removing tie-wrap

2.1. Release wire harness -1- by opening the tie-wrap -2- on the retaining frame -3-.
2.2. Unclip wire harness -1- at the retaining frame -2- ( -arrows- ).

Information

- Disconnect the connector axially from the motor. Otherwise the retaining lugs can break off and this can prevent the connector from locking securely.

2.3. Pull off connector -1- on motor for seat adjustment -2- ( -arrow- ).

3. Loosen inner pivot axis.

3.1. Unscrew fastening screw -1- from the seat adjustment frame -2- ( -arrow- ).
4. Loosen outer pivot axis.

4.1. Unscrew fastening screw -1- from the seat adjustment frame -2- ( -arrow- ).
5. Remove seat adjustment frame from the seat frame -arrows-.

Installing motor for seat adjustment

1. Position seat adjustment frame on the seat frame and align it -arrows-.

2. Secure outer pivot axis.
2.1. Secure seat adjustment frame -2- with the fastening screw -1- ( -arrow- ).
=> Tightening torque: 28 Nm (21 ftlb.)+/-3 Nm (+/-2 ftlb.)

3. Install inner pivot axis.
3.1. Secure seat adjustment frame -2- with the fastening screw -1- ( -arrows- ).
=> Tightening torque: 28 Nm (21 ftlb.)+/-3 Nm (+/-2 ftlb.)

4. Secure wire harness for seat.





Plugging in connector

4.1. Plug in connector -1- on motor for seat adjustment -2- ( -arrows- ).
4.2. Clip in wire harness -1- at the inside of the retaining frame -2- ( -arrows- ).

4.3. Secure wire harness -1- with the tie-wrap -2- to the retaining frame -3-.

5. Align holder for seat memory control unit -1- ( -arrows- ) and secure with the fastening screws -2-.

6. Fit seat on the mounting frame with the help of another person.

Subsequent work

1. Install motor for rear vertical adjustment. -> 729219 Removing and installing motor for rear vertical adjustment - section on "Installing"
2. Install motor for front vertical adjustment. -> 728819 Removing and installing motor for front vertical adjustment (seat angle) - section on "Installing" 728819 Removing and Installing Motor For Front Vertical Adjustment (Seat Angle)
