3.2. Press locking tabs together -arrows C- and disconnect plug connection -1- ( -arrow D- ).

NOTICE

Incorrect line routing

- Risk of damage to lines and hoses
- Malfunction and fault memory entry on control unit

-> Avoid small bending radii when routing lines.
-> File down edges and burrs in the routing area or mask them with adhesive tape.
-> Maintain a sufficient distance from components exposed to high temperatures while driving.

4. Unclip water drain hose -1- and oil pressure lines -2 and 3- from the holders -4 and 5- ( -arrows- ).

Unclipping lines

5. Unscrew fastening nuts -2- and swivel out holder with the hydraulic unit -1- ( -arrow- ).

Swivelling out hydraulic unit holder

NOTICE

Incorrect handling of hydraulic system

- Malfunction in hydraulic system
- Risk of damage to hydraulic system

-> Do not disconnect plug-in couplings while opening or closing the rear lid.
-> Secure the lid mechanically to prevent it from closing before disconnecting plug-in couplings.
-> Do not short-circuit plug-in couplings.
-> Do not operate the system while plug-in couplings are disconnected.
-> Do not press actuating cylinder in or pull it out manually when the hydraulic unit is removed.
-> Protect hydraulic system from contamination.

6. Release plug-in couplings.

Releasing plug-in coupling (red)

6.1. Red oil pressure line: Press in clamp -1- ( -arrow A- ), release ( -arrow B- ) and pull out plug-in coupling -2- ( -arrow C- ).
6.2. Blue oil pressure line: Swivel oil pressure line -1- to the side slightly -arrow A-. Press in clamp -2- ( -arrow B- ), release ( -arrow C- ) and pull out plug-in coupling -3- ( -arrow D- ).

Releasing plug-in coupling (blue)

7. Remove holder with hydraulic unit from the vehicle.
8. Cut tie-wrap -1- and remove hydraulic unit -2- out of the holder -3- ( -arrow- ).

Removing hydraulic unit

9. Check rubber strips -1- in the marked area of the holder -2- , replace if necessary.

Inspecting rubber strips

10. Detach upper part of sound capsule -1- ( -arrow A- ) and remove hydraulic unit -2- ( -arrow B- ).

Removing hydraulic unit

General information on the hydraulic unit

Checking hydraulic oil level

1. Hold hydraulic unit horizontally and check hydraulic oil level at the reservoir using the cross hairs marking.
The hydraulic oil level must not drop below the minimum mark.

Checking hydraulic oil level

2. A hydraulic oil level that is too low must be adjusted accordingly.

Filling hydraulic unit

Information

- When filling the hydraulic system, proceed with utmost care to ensure dirt does not get into the system.

- Before unscrewing the screw plug, place a cloth underneath the hydraulic unit to catch emerging hydraulic oil.

- The hydraulic unit for the rear lid uses a closed hydraulic system. In general, the hydraulic system will need to be filled only if the hydraulic circuit was opened (after parts replacement). Only Genuine Porsche hydraulic oil must be used when changing or topping up the hydraulic oil.

1. Fill hydraulic unit.

Filling system

1.1. Unscrew screw plug -1-.
1.2. Fill hydraulic unit -2- as far as the cross hair marking with Genuine Porsche hydraulic oil -3-.

Information

When screwing in the screw plug -1- , ensure that the seal -4- is touching the screw head.

1.3. Screw in screw plug -1-. => Tightening torque: 1 Nm (0.5 ftlb.)+/-0.3 Nm (+/-0.2 ftlb.)

Replacing plug-in couplings

Removing plug-in couplings
1. Remove hydraulic unit. -> 556719 Removing and installing rear lid hydraulic unit - section on "Removing"

Information

- When replacing the plug-in coupling, proceed with utmost care to ensure dirt does not get into the system.

- Before unscrewing the plug-in coupling, place a cloth underneath the hydraulic unit to catch emerging hydraulic oil.

2. Remove plug-in coupling at the hydraulic unit.

Removing plug-in coupling at hydraulic unit

2.1. Counter plug-in coupling connection -1- with a suitable wrench and unscrew plug-in coupling -1- in -direction of arrow A-.
2.2. Counter plug-in coupling connection -3- with a suitable wrench and unscrew plug-in coupling -4- in -direction of arrow B-.
3. Remove plug-in coupling at the oil pressure line.

Removing plug-in coupling at oil pressure line

3.1. Counter plug-in coupling connection -1- with a suitable wrench and unscrew plug-in coupling -2- in -direction of arrow A-.
3.2. Counter plug-in coupling connection -3- with a suitable wrench and unscrew plug-in coupling -4- in -direction of arrow B-.

Installing plug-in couplings
1. Install plug-in coupling at the oil pressure line.
