Preliminary work

1. Remove cover for pillar and retaining clip. -> 669419 Removing and installing covers for pillars - section on "Removing" 669419 Removing and installing covers for pillars

Installation position of A-pillar moulding

Information

The retaining clips will be damaged irreparably when you remove the A-pillar moulding and must be replaced.

1. Starting at the front, insert a plastic wedge between the A-pillar moulding -1- and the body -arrow A- and carefully unclip it from the retaining clips -2- ( -arrow B- ).

2. Pull A-pillar moulding -1- at the rear out of the side window trim frame -2- ( -arrow- ).

Information

Do not remove retaining clip by pressing in the expanding pin.

3. Remove retaining clips.

3.1. Insert a screwdriver into the retaining clip -1- and press out the expanding pin -2- ( -arrow A- ). Pull it out completely using pointed-nose pliers if necessary.
3.2. Pull retaining clip -1- from the body -arrow B-.

Installing A-pillar moulding

1. Install new retaining clips.

1.1. Press retaining clip -1- into the body -arrow A-.
1.2. Press in expanding pin -2- ( -arrow B- ).
2. Slide A-pillar moulding -1- at the rear into the side window trim frame -2- ( -arrow- ) until it clicks into place.

3. Position A-pillar moulding -1- on the body and press it into the retaining clips -2- ( -arrows- ) until it clicks into place.

Subsequent work

1. Install cover for pillar and retaining clip. -> 669419 Removing and installing covers for pillars - section on "Installing" 669419 Removing and installing covers for pillars
