Technical values





Preliminary work

1. Remove front seat. => 720119 Removing and installing front seat - section on "Removing"
2. Secure seat on the mounting frame.

=> Seat cushion and backrest mount
3. Remove cover for backrest. => 722619 Removing and installing cover for backrest - section on "Removing"

WARNING

Danger of injury and material damage if airbag units are not handled correctly.

-> Always observe the safety regulations for handling airbag units. => Safety regulations for handling airbags and.
-> The airbag unit must always be stowed so that the airbag opening faces upwards.
-> If removed for an extended period, the airbag unit must be kept in a locked place.
-> Switch off ignition and leave ignition key in. Disconnect battery. Route or isolate the ground strap so that all contact with a ground carrier (e.g. body, seat frame) is avoided. => Work instructions after disconnecting the battery.
-> After the battery is disconnected, always wait for 1 minute before disconnecting the airbag plugs.





Installation position

1. Remove support.

1.1. Unscrew fastening screw -3- and remove support -2-.
2. Remove inner pivot axis.

2.1. Unscrew fastening screw -4- and remove it.
3. Remove outer pivot axis.

3.1. Undo nut and take off fastening screw -5-.
4. Open up seat frame.

5. Loosen adjustment mechanism.

5.1. Unscrew the fastening screw -5-

Information

- Only disconnect the plug axially from the positioning motor. Otherwise the retaining lugs can break off and a secure plug lock cannot be guaranteed.

6. Pull off connector -6- on motor.

7. Unscrew fastening screws -7-.

8. Remove motor.

Installing motor for height adjustment

1. Fit motor.
2. Screw in fastening screws and tighten to the specified tightening torque.=> Tightening torque: 12 Nm (9 ftlb)+/-2 Nm (+/-1.5 ftlb.)

3. Secure adjustment mechanism.

3.1. Screw in fastening screw -5- and tighten to the specified tightening torque.
=> Tightening torque: 20 Nm (15 ftlb.)+/-2 Nm (+/-1.5 ftlb.)
4. Connect connector -6-.

5. Fold down seat frame.

6. Install outer pivot axis.
6.1. Insert pivot axis -5- and tighten nut to specified tightening torque.
=> Tightening torque: 28 Nm (21 ftlb.)+/-3 Nm (+/-2.0 ftlb)

7. Install inner pivot axis.
7.1. Insert pivot axis -4- and tighten to the specified tightening torque.
=> Tightening torque: 28 Nm (21 ftlb.)+/-3 Nm (+/-2.0 ftlb)

8. Install support.
8.1. Fit support -2- on seat frame.
8.2. Insert fastening screw -3- and tighten to the specified tightening torque.
=> Tightening torque: 25 Nm (19 ftlb.)+/-2 Nm (+/-1.5 ftlb.)





Installing support

Subsequent work

1. Install cover for backrest. => 722619 Removing and installing cover for backrest - section on "Installing"
2. Remove seat from mounting frame.
3. Install front seat. => 720119 Removing and installing front seat - section on "Installing"
4. Teach motor end positions in the control unit.
4.1. For vehicles with seat memory, move the seat once to all end positions.
