1. Mark the vertical position of the tailpipe -8- on the left and right of the silencer flanges
2. Release the fastening point of one silencer (either left or right).
2.1. Unscrew three hex nuts M8 from three-hole flange. Replace nuts and metal seals.
2.2. Release clamping sleeves on tailpipe -8- and push tailpipe onto the fixed silencer flange.
2.3. Release clamping sleeve -6- on transfer flange and push onto the fixed silencer flange.
2.4. Release holding clamp -2- on silencer by turning out an M8 x 40 -2a- hex screw.
2.5. Replace holding clamp.
3. Pull silencer from the tailpipe and push outwards (do not remove).

Information

- Replace clamps on the tailpipe whenever they are opened.

- When removing the clamp for the first time, remove spotweld and slide on new clamp.

4. Pull tailpipe off the second silencer flange.
4.1. Treat with heat or anti-rust agent if required.
4.2. Replace the clamp.
5. Remove rust from corroded components with a steel brush.

1. Grease surfaces of flange with high-temperature paste, e.g. Optimoly HT, Part No. 000.043.004.00).
2. Slide tailpipe -8- with clamps onto the fixed silencer flange.
3. Install silencer
3.1. Preposition the silencer at the three-hole flange with new hex nuts M8 and new seal.
3.2. Push tailpipe and clamping sleeve -6- onto the silencer flange.
3.3. Place a new holding clip with hex screw M8 x 40 on the silencer. Tighten the screws.
=> Tightening torque: 15 Nm
3.4. Tighten M8 hex screws on three-hole flange.
=> Tightening torque: 23 Nm
3.5. Align the clamping sleeve in the middle and tighten.
=> Tightening torque: 23 Nm
4. Adjust the tailpipe to the specified dimensions and then tighten it.
4.1. First align the tailpipe to the removal markings on the tailpipe and to the rear apron.
4.2. Horizontal Position: Align the tailpipe to the middle (pushing onto the silencer pipe).
4.3. Vertical Position: Align acc. to specified dimensions -B-.
4.4. Tighten clamp on tailpipe.
=> Tightening torque: 55 Nm (41 ftlb.)
