The new CDR-31 audio system, which comes as standard, has an extremely high-quality operator interface. The look, feel and central functions correspond to the latest PCM generation. The main feature of the new generation of audio systems is a new 7-inch TFT display with touchscreen. All functions (except for the volume) of the new CDR-31 system can be selected by touching the color screen. This allows fast and simple navigation through the various menus. Touchscreen operation significantly reduces operating time and is also less distracting for the driver. The touchscreen has a long-lasting, easy-to-clean coating. Unlike earlier touchscreen systems, the surface is particularly resistant to soiling from fingerprints.

The basic radio functions can also be controlled using the optional multi-function steering wheel. An additional feature of the new generation of audio systems is its enhanced display options in the instrument cluster, e.g. telephone and radio station lists.

CDR Options

The operator interface is adapted to suit the new color screen - both the operating structure and the screen design are the same as for the PCM. The screen display is very clear thanks to the fact that a whole series of rarely-used functions have been moved to the second menu level ("OPTION"). Up to five easy to-read list entries are displayed on each page.

For radio listeners, there are up to 36 memory locations if necessary. 30 locations can be set as required, while 6 presets are for Best FM. The integrated CD drive plays music in MP3 format. The following formats are supported: MP3, AAC and WMA.







An FM double tuner with integrated RDS is installed as well as the latest generation of the Antenna Phase Diversity function. This multi-antenna system allows optimized reception, whereby the two available antenna signals are either combined or evaluated separately, depending on the situation. The CDR-31 system calculates the optimal phase combination of the two signals for each reception situation in order to ensure maximum reception performance of the system. The antenna system for CDR-31 includes two FM antennas and one AM antenna. All the antennas are located in the rear window of the Panamera.
