Preliminary work
1. Remove padding for front middle backrest.

1. Disengage the backrest cover -1- from the hooks on the cushion carrier -2- ( -arrows- ).

2. Guide the backrest cover section -1- through under the fixing point for the backrest cover -2-.

2.1. Guide the seat heating lines -3- through under the fixing point for the backrest cover -> 742955 Replacing heating element for front backrest 742955 Replacing heating element for front backrest.
Only for heated seats.
3. Loosen cushion clips on the cushion carrier.
3.1. Disengage cushion clips -arrows- at the cushion carrier.
Only for seats with air conditioning.

3.2. Cut cushion clips -arrows- on the cushion carrier using side cutters.

4. Remove cushion carrier -1- from the backrest cushion -2-.

Information
- The heating element is integrated in the cover on heated seats without seat ventilation.
- The air-conditioning pad is affixed to the backrest cushion on heated seats with seat ventilation.
5. Remove the backrest cushion from the cover.
5.1. Guide the backrest cushion -1- out of the fixing point in the head area -2- and remove it from the cover.
Only for seats without air conditioning.

5.2. Guide the backrest cushion -1- together with the air-conditioning pad -2- out of the fixing point in the head area -3- and remove them from the cover.

5.3. Disconnect air-conditioning pad from the backrest cushion.
5.3.1. Carefully detach the air-conditioning pad -1- from the adhesive tape -2- in the head area -arrow-.

5.3.2. Remove the air cowl -1- for the air-conditioning pad -2- from the backrest cushion -3-.

5.3.3. Carefully detach the air-conditioning pad -1- from the adhesive tape -2- in the lower area.

Installing cover for front middle backrest
Information
- The heating element is integrated in the cover on heated seats without seat ventilation.
- The air-conditioning pad is affixed to the backrest cushion on heated seats with seat ventilation.
1. Join the backrest cushion with the cover.
1.1. Guide the backrest cushion -1- into the fixing point in the head area -2-.
Only for seats without air conditioning.

1.2. Affix the air-conditioning pad to the backrest cushion.
Only for seats with air conditioning.
1.2.1. Affix the air-conditioning pad -1- to the backrest cushion in the lower area using double-sided adhesive tape -2-.

1.2.2. Guide the air cowl -1- for the air-conditioning pad -2- into the backrest cushion -3-.

1.2.3. Affix the air-conditioning pad -1- to the backrest cushion in the head area using double-sided adhesive tape -2- ( -arrow- ).

1.2.4. Guide the backrest cushion -1- together with the air-conditioning pad -2- into the fixing point in the head area -3-.

2. Fit cushion carrier -1- on the backrest cushion -2-.

3. Join the backrest carrier to the cover.
3.1. Engage cushion clips -arrows- on the cushion carrier.
Only for seats with air conditioning.

3.2. Fit cushion clips -arrows- using cushion clip pliers.

4. Guide the backrest cover section -1- through under the fixing point for the backrest cover -2-.

5. Plug in plug connections for heated seats -> 742955 Replacing heating element for front backrest 742955 Replacing heating element for front backrest.

6. Engage the backrest cover -1- in the hooks on the cushion carrier -2-.
