Main objectives of the development team were:
- Seating for four in full-size sporty, comfortable seats with integrated headrests
- Unlimited day-to-day usability with a flexible and highly functional luggage compartment that is perfect for touring
- High standards with regard to quality and appearance
- A wide range of Porsche personalization options
- Familiar Porsche shapes in the passenger compartment
- A unique and clear operating concept

The continuous center console running from front to rear and rising towards the dashboard with a raised shift mechanism is reminiscent of the Carrera GT and draws attention to the idea of the four individual seats. The streamlined individual seats with integrated headrests give a light appearance to the passenger compartment and allow rear passengers an unobstructed view of the road ahead.

As a result, the passenger compartment has an integrated appearance and rear passengers also have the feeling that they are participating directly in the driving experience. Even familiar Porsche elements such as the five dial-type instruments with the centrally positioned tachometer and the ignition lock to the left of the steering wheel, typical of the 911, are reproduced here.

The numerous functions available in the Panamera can be easily accessed by way of the 7-inch touchscreen, the center console and the roof console, all of which are standard in all Panamera models. The most important functions for vehicle operation are arranged according to function group in the center and roof console and can be accessed quickly and easily by the driver using buttons on the left and right of the shift mechanism.
