Powerlift Rear Hatch

Powerlift Rear Hatch (Option)

The shape of the hinged rear hatch, which features a large glass window, makes for an exceptionally high volume luggage compartment. The wide opening facilitates convenient loading and unloading and makes it easy to rearrange items. And electric closing aid is particularly convenient. A power lift hatch, which can be opened at the push of a button on the key or in the passenger compartment and closed using a button on the hatch, is available on request. The opening height can be adjusted as required.

Detection of obstacles when opening:
- The tailgate stops moving if the opening procedure is blocked by an obstacle. A warning signal sounds.

Detection of obstacles when closing:
- Closing of the tailgate is interrupted if the procedure is blocked by an obstacle. A warning signal sounds and the tailgate opens again.

NOTE: The individual setting for the opening height of the hatch is described in the Panamera Owner's Manual in the section entitled "Opening and Closing".

Operation

This option facilitates the automatic opening and closing of the hatch and the individual setting of the opening height. Open using a switch (A) in the passenger compartment, key remote control (B) or a button on the hatch (C). Close using a button on the inside of the hatch (D).

Emergency Operation

Check that the fuse is intact before initiating emergency operation. If the electrical release mechanism is faulty, the hatch can be opened as follows:

1. Move driver's seat all the way forward.
2. Release rear-seat backrest and fold it forwards.
3. Remove retractable luggage compartment cover.
4. Unclip luggage compartment light using a plastic wedge.

5. Insert needle-nose pliers into the cut-out on the hatch trim panel and pull out the emergency release cable from the lower part of the hatch lock.
6. Open the hatch by hand.
