Removing And Installing Wire Harness For Rear-view Mirror

Preliminary work

1. Remove rear-view mirror.
2. Remove housing for rear-view mirror and housing for rear-view mirror base.

Removing wire harness for rear-view mirror

INFORMATION: All work steps are described for the mirror on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed on the right side as a mirror image of the left side.

1. Remove electric plug connection for the fold-in motor -1- from its installation position and disconnect it -A-.







2. Guide the two connectors -1 and 2- through the opening in the holder -B-.
3. Loosen both clips -1- using a screwdriver.







4. Feed the wire harness out of the strain relief element and remove it.







Installing wire harness for rear-view mirror

INFORMATION: All work steps are described for the mirror on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed on the right side as a mirror image of the left side.

1. Guide the two connectors -1 and 2- through the opening in the holder -A-.







2. Connect plug connection for fold-in motor -1- ( -B- ) and insert it into the holder.
3. Fasten the two clips. Make sure that the wire harness forms a sufficiently large loop.







4. Position the wire harness in the openings in the holder and engage it in the strain relief element.







Subsequent work
1. Install housing for rear-view mirror base and housing for rear-view mirror.
2. Install rear-view mirror.
