Removing And Installing Cover For Front Seat

Installation position of cover for front seat







Preliminary work

1. Move seat-surface extension fully forward and remove it.
Only for seats with seat-surface extension.

2. Remove control panel trim.

Removing cover for front seat







1. Use a plastic wedge to carefully detach the cover from the rear seat frame -arrows- .







2. Disconnect plug connections -1- for heated seats -arrows-
Only for heated seats.







3. Detach the cover -1- using a plastic wedge and pull it out all the way around -arrow- .
4. For heated seats with seat-surface extension.







4.1. Disengage cover for seat extension from underneath all the way around -arrows- .







4.2. Pull off connector for seat heating -1- for seat-surface extension under the seat -A- .
4.3. Cut all tie-wraps used to secure the seat heating line for the seat-surface extension using side cutters.







4.4. Cut tie-wraps -1- and pull seat heating line for seat-surface extension through towards the front -A- .







4.5. Pull the cover -1- over the cushion -2- and disengage the restraining straps -3- on both sides by pulling them outwards -A- .

5. Loosen cushion clips on the cushion carrier.







5.1. For seats with air conditioning.
Disengage cushion clips -1- at the cushion carrier -2- ( -A- ).







5.1.1. Disengage cushion clips -1- at the sides.







5.2. For seats without air conditioning.
Cut cushion clips -1- at the cushion carrier -2- using side cutters.







5.2.1. Disengage cushion clips -1- at the sides.







5.3. Cut the cushion clips at the rear -1- using side cutters.







6. Remove tie-wraps, lines and connectors on the underside of the seat.
6.1. Cut the two tie-wraps -1 and 2- on the underside of the seat using side cutters.
6.2. Release connectors -3- ( -A- ) and unplug them -B- .
6.3. Guide connectors -3- through towards the rear -C- .

7. Remove cover from the padding.

Installing cover for front seat

1. Place cover on the padding and straighten it.







2. Fit tie-wraps, lines and connectors on the underside of the seat.
2.1. Pull connectors -1- through in a downward direction -A- .
2.2. Plug in connectors -1- and make sure that the locking mechanism engages correctly.
2.3. Fit the two tie-wraps -1 and 2- on the underside of the seat.

INFORMATION:
- Replace any damaged cushion clips/plastic and engage them in the integrated metal strut for the cover.
- Fasten cover to the padding, starting from the inside.
- Sequence - rear (cushion clips/metal), front (for seats with air conditioning: cushion clips/plastic)

3. Fit cushion clips on the cushion carrier.







3.1. Fit cushion clips -1- using cushion clip pliers.

3.2. For seats with air conditioning.
Engage cushion clips -1- on the cushion carrier -A- .







3.2.1. Engage cushion clips -1- at the sides.







3.3. For seats without air conditioning.
Fit cushion clips -1- using cushion clip pliers.
Cushion clip pliers Nr.130







3.3.1. Engage cushion clips -1- at the sides.

4. For heated seats with seat-surface extension.







4.1. Engage the two restraining straps -1- at the sides by pulling them inwards -A- and pull the cover -2- over the cushion -3- .







4.2. Route the seat heating line for the seat-surface extension towards the rear -A- and fit tie-wraps -1- .
4.3. Fit all tie-wraps used to secure the seat heating line for the seat-surface extension.







4.4. Plug in connector for seat heating -1- for seat-surface extension under the seat -A- .







4.5. Pull cover for seat extension over the seat cushion and engage it all the way around -arrows- .







5. Fit cover -1- into the seat frame all the way around using a plastic wedge -arrow- .







6. Connect plug connection -1- for heated seats -arrows- .







7. Fit cover at the rear of the seat frame using a plastic wedge -arrows- .

Subsequent work

1. Install control panel trim.
