Removing And Installing Cover For Backrest

Installation position of backrest cover







Removing cover for backrest

Preliminary work

1. Remove front seat.

INFORMATION:
- The padding for the front backrest and the side airbag only need to be removed if the rear cover is removed.
- The padding for the front backrest and the side airbag do not need to be removed when removing the side cover.

2. Remove side airbag.

INFORMATION:
- The padding for the front backrest and the side airbag only need to be removed if the rear cover is removed.
- The padding for the front backrest and the side airbag do not need to be removed when removing the side cover.

3. Remove padding for front backrest.
4. Disconnect suction fan.
Only for seats with air conditioning, for removing the rear cover.

5. Remove control valves from the guide.
Only for seats with air cushions, for removing the rear cover.

Removing cover for inner backrest







1. Unscrew fastening screw -1- at the side from the cover -2- .







2. Unscrew fastening screw -1- at the bottom from the cover -2- .

INFORMATION:
- The retaining clips will be damaged irreparably during removal.
- Always use new retaining clips during installation.







3. Remove the cover -1- together with the retaining clip -2- .

Removing cover for outer backrest







1. Press ring clip -1- at the side off the cover using a screwdriver.







2. Unscrew fastening screw -1- at the bottom from the cover -2- .

INFORMATION:
- The retaining clips will be damaged irreparably during removal.
- Always use new retaining clips during installation.







3. Remove the cover -1- together with the retaining clip -2- .

Removing cover for rear backrest







1. Release locking lugs -1 and 2- ( -arrows- ) and detach cover.







2. Guide the cover -1- out on both sides over the bracket -2- .







3. Unclip retaining clips -1- in the head area on both sides.







4. Remove cover for backrest -1- to the rear.

Installing cover for backrest

Installing cover for inner backrest

INFORMATION:

- The retaining clips will be damaged irreparably during removal.
- Always use new retaining clips during installation.







1. Fit and engage the cover -1- together with the retaining clip -2- .







2. Screw in fastening screw -1- at the bottom of the cover -2- .







3. Screw in fastening screw -1- at the side of the cover -2- .

Installing cover for outer backrest

INFORMATION:
- The retaining clips will be damaged irreparably during removal.
- Always use new retaining clips during installation.







1. Fit and engage the cover -1- together with the retaining clip -2- .







2. Screw in fastening screw -1- at the bottom of the cover -2- .







3. Fit a new ring clip -1- .

Installing cover for rear backrest







1. Position cover for backrest -1- forward.







2. Clip in retaining clips -1- in the head area on both sides.







3. Guide the cover -1- into position over the bracket -2- on both sides.







4. Clip in locking lugs -1 and 2- on the cover in the lower backrest area.

Subsequent work

1. Fit control valves in the guide.
Only for seats with air cushions, for installing the rear cover.

2. Plug in suction fan.
Only for seats with air conditioning, for installing the rear cover.

3. Install side airbag.
4. Install padding for front backrest.
5. Install front seat.
