Preliminary work for oil for final drive

1. Together with air suspension: Detach compressor and hang it to one side. -> 431519 Removing and installing compressor for levelling system Service and Repair
2. Remove heat shield on final drive.

WARNING

Hot fluid

- Danger of scalding

-> Let the fluid cool down.
-> Wear personal protective gear.

Information

- Secure vehicle to prevent it rolling away.

- To check transmission oil the vehicle must be horizontal.

1. Unscrew oil inspection plug -1-.

2. The fill level is correct if the oil reaches the lower edge of the inspection window. If this is not the case, fill up with oil. -> 399035 Checking and topping up oil for final drive - section on "Filling"
3. Screw in oil inspection plug -1- with new sealing ring. => Tightening torque: 35 Nm (26 ftlb.)

WARNING

1. Unscrew oil inspection plug -1-.

Information

Use only oil approved by Porsche.

2. Fill in oil until it overflows.
3. Screw in new oil inspection plug -1-. => Tightening torque: 35 Nm (26 ftlb.)

Subsequent work for oil for final drive

1. Install heat shield on final drive. => Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
