Preliminary work

Information

- The extent of disassembly depends on the scope of the planned repairs.

1. Remove design cover for throttle valve. For details, see -> 108319 Removing and installing engine cover (design cover) Service and Repair
2. Remove cover from lock support. For details, see -> 703919 Removing and installing cover for front lock support 70391900 Removing and installing cover for front lock support
3. Remove air box for throttle valve if necessary. -> 243519 Removing and installing air box for throttle housing (intake ports upstream of throttle valve) 243519 Removing and installing air box for throttle housing (Y-shaped pipe ahead of throttle valve)

Removing air box for air cleaner

Naturally-aspirated engines =>
1. Remove intake pipes -4- from the air cleaner housing. To do this, loosen the clamps -5- and pull off intake pipes.





Intake pipes

Turbo engines =>
2. Remove intake manifolds at the left and right ( -1- and -1- ). To do this, loosen the screw-type clamps and pull off the intake manifolds.

Installing air box for air cleaner

- The components are installed in reverse order to removal.
- Screw-type clamps => Tightening torque: 3 Nm (2 ftlb.)
- Check that the pipes are seated correctly (by pulling on them).

Subsequent work

1. Fit air box for throttle valve if necessary. -> 243519 Removing and installing air box for throttle housing (intake ports upstream of throttle valve) 243519 Removing and installing air box for throttle housing (Y-shaped pipe ahead of throttle valve)
2. Fit design cover on the throttle valve. For details, see -> 108319 Removing and installing engine cover (design cover) Service and Repair
3. Fit cover on lock support. For details, see -> 703919 Removing and installing cover for front lock support 70391900 Removing and installing cover for front lock support
